One of the nation's largest labor unions, the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), is promoting a plan that will centralize all retirement plans for American workers, including private 401(k) plans, under one new "retirement system" for the United States.
In effect, government pensions for everyone, not unlike the European system and regardless of personal choice.
The SEIU, which was integral to the election of Barack Obama as president, is working with the left-leaning Economic Policy Institute (EPI), and the National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare, on SEIU's plan, called "the Retirement USA Initiative."
Claiming that the retirement system in place now has "failed most Americans," EPI vice president Ross Eisenbrey, told a labor union publication that "account balances have fallen by a third since late 2007, leaving many older workers unable to retire just as our economy is shedding millions of jobs.

Of course it is. We have a Marxist in the WH. He has always been a Marxist. He doesn’t deny it, in fact in his book he pretty much bragged about it. He wouldn’t be there now has they Pinkos not taken over the MSM. They should all be ..............
Of course, look for them to come after the IRAs next.

They can look all they want. I have nothing here they can get their hands on. Mine is out of the country. What I keep here, I wish them much luck in finding it because they are sure as hell going to need it. It takes me 30 minutes to even get to it. BY BOAT!
We are five days away from fundamentally transforming the United States of America. -BO
It’s time to fundamentally change the way that we do business in Washington. To help build a new foundation for the 21st century, we need to reform our government so that it is more efficient, more transparent, and more creative. That will demand new thinking and a new sense of responsibility for every dollar that is spent.

NOT TRUE
This is where the Health Care bill comes into play. It’s sole purpose was to create this new “trust” fund that the Federal government can now steal from. They also are going to nationalize the entire College Student Loan program to boot and create a “trust” fund out of that.

Lordy, folks. I’ve been telling you this was coming for almost 20 years. Sometimes I just hate being right.
First .. let’s set the groundwork here. Andy Stern is the president of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU). He is also the most frequent outside visitor to the White House. He is also an hand-selected member of Barack Obama’s deficit commission. He is also the one who said this:
We now have a new metric. The president says he wants to judge the new economy whether it increases the number of people in the middle class. Whether we have shared prosperity, not just growth. Which is a fundamental different philosophy then what we’ve seen in this country to date. Now how do we distribute wealth in this country ... clearly government has a major opportunity to distribute wealth - from the EITC, from tax policies, from minimum wages, from living wages - the government has a role in distributing wealth and social benefits. We are at historic crossroads ... in terms of what our new president is trying to do and a different way we are going to try and evaluate the economy. And so all of sudden we are witnessing the first new American economic plan led by the government, not necessarily by the private sector.
Pay particular attention to that last line: “We are witnessing the first new American economic plan led by the government, not necessarily by the private sector.”
Now let’s move on to this ...
The SEIU (Andy Stern’s unions) is promoting a plan to centralize all retirement plans in the United States. The plan is called “the Retirement USA Initiative” and it would create one government pension plan for all American workers.
Here are some of the basic tenets of this government retirement plan:
Benefits that move with you, even if you change jobs (or don’t have a job because you are a moocher)
Payouts only at retirement (which will be earlier and earlier because .. hey .. the government will take care of you after that!)
Shared responsibility among employers, the government and employees (ie. spread the wealth)
Pooled assets, controlled by professional investment managers (government bureaucrats)
What’s not being said here is that this grand retirement plan will eventually result in the confiscation of all privately-held retirement accounts. This means your 401K plans, your IRAs and even your private pension plans. You see, in our grand new egalitarian society you just cannot let some people have more set aside for retirement than others. It just isn’t fair. Everyone deserves the same retirement income, right?
Still don’t believe this is on the way? Fine. Then you can sit here suffering the consequences while people who actually made their escape plans look sadly at you and what was once their country from under a palm three somewhere.
I get to withdraw the last of my IRA this week but my first wife has a year to go before she starts so she will make one more deposit...
Awesome post my FRiend!
BTTT!
Yeah, I’m afraid the ‘Tards feel totally unconstrained by the wishes of the governed now.
Hey, I resemble that remark. LOL
Got some reading to do.
I’ll see your AA-12 and join your regimen.
