The backlash: Reform turns personal
politico ^ | 3/24/10 | JAKE SHERMAN & MARIN COGAN

Posted on 03/24/2010 10:08:52 AM PDT by Nachum

Louise Slaughter and Bart Stupak have received death threats.

A tea party participant published what he thought was Thomas Perriello’s home address and urged disgruntled voters to “drop by” for a “good face-to-face chat.”

Vandals broke windows at Slaughter’s office in New York and Gabrielle Giffords’s office in Arizona.

And angry voters are planning to protest this weekend at the home of Steve Driehaus — who’s already seen a photograph of his children used in a newspaper ad published by reform opponents.

The vitriolic health care debate has become personal — too personal, say House Democrats who voted for the bill and now find not just themselves but their families in the cross hairs of opponents.

Passing laws on my body made it personal.
___________
Oh, yes indeed it did!

“Haven’t seen this much anger since the 60’s “

Gee, why aren’t these Democrats happy about people engaging in civic affairs? They want apathy?

I hope these traitors live in non-stop fear for the rest of their lives
____________
They will. One thing we have is our freedom. I can leave my house and go anywhere, I don’t have to worry that someone is out to ‘off’ me. BHO will have to live in fear for the rest of his life. He will always wonder if someone is lurking to pop him. His entire life.... He won’t always have the protection of the WH. His life has forever changed. He’s a pussy and the fact that he will live in fear until the day he dies gives me great satisfaction.

Courts, prayer, elections and mass civil disobedience. You forgot that last part.

Courts, prayer and elections alone are not enough. Of course, God can do whatever He likes but that doesn’t mean we should be wimps and expect Him to do all the work.

Elections will do nothing if 0thugga has signed bills allowing felons to vote and granting amnesty to gazillions of illegals who will then vote the way Dems tell them.

If the colonists had not used violence, the US would have been part of the British Empire for a long time.

Didn’t say it was. You stated that Jesus was never violent. I pointed out your error.

I don’t consider a rock through a window and act of violence. I consider it protest. Calling it violence is stupid.

Don’t wait till November. Any Town Halls planned during the recess? Every single Congress Crapper is running for re-election. Why wait for the ballot box? They have to campaign. The make campaign appearances at fairs. The perfect setting for LOUD yet peaceful ‘spontaneous’ demonstrations or sit-ins.

Beat them at their own 60’s game. I’m willing to go to jail for disturbing the peace. But it is going to take more than a handful.

“For everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under the heavens....”
Yes, indeed. Ecclesiastes 3.
Some folks like to conveniently forget about that.

but I do think I see shifting of priorities going on.

Absolutely. I was successful in convincing about half my neighborhood last April to give up vacations, fishing and camping trips etc. in order to start preps.

Over the course of the summer months we met regularly and shared inventory numbers, both individual and common. We have amassed much in the way of foodstocks, fuels, medicines as well as "other necessary items".

We will double down our efforts starting next month. Also, our numbers are growing within the community. Thank God for like minded folks.

I don’t know if mass disobedience is needed yet. And I’m not saying be a wimp either. My hubby was in the first Iraq war, I’ve almost died twice and have had cancer 4x’s, was healed at the altar of my church from liver cancer 8 years ago. I’m hardly a wimp. But, we need to be smart about this, cool heads, pick and choose our battles well, along with the strategy. If you don’t your just gonna wear out before they do or do the wrong thing. Don’t you know anything about boxing? And especially be patient, and prayerful about all things. If we do this without God, we are doomed to failure.

I don’t like the death threats. That’s going to far. We don’t need to do that. Take it up in the courts and on election day and on our knees in prayer.

I don't like the death threats either. Either do or do not. Never warn the enemy that you are after him until you make your point.

I do agree with prayer. Pray Psalms 109:8-9 over every democrat (liberal)

Passions and anger are running so high, I fear some sort of physical violence against the people who have done this is inevitable.

I expect violence against these enemies of America. God can use whomever and whatever he chooses to remove them from power (Psalms 109:8-9)

It is inevitable. Take away everything people have worked for, everything they feel they need to protect, and take away any hope of things improving, and then taking out some of the people who have done this to them becomes the only thing they can change. After all, if we have nothing to live and be free for we may as well take a few of the enemy down with us. (Speaking rhetoricaly in that last part, I have young children yet)

Why is the murder rate in detroit so high? because it doesn't matter to the residents there whether they live or die. Far too many people across the country have just been pushed to that same state.

I hope I am wrong.

Sorry, but you're right on the money. Democrats will die and Americans will cheer.
