The backlash: Reform turns personal
politico ^ | 3/24/10 | JAKE SHERMAN & MARIN COGAN

Louise Slaughter and Bart Stupak have received death threats.

A tea party participant published what he thought was Thomas Perriello’s home address and urged disgruntled voters to “drop by” for a “good face-to-face chat.”

Vandals broke windows at Slaughter’s office in New York and Gabrielle Giffords’s office in Arizona.

And angry voters are planning to protest this weekend at the home of Steve Driehaus — who’s already seen a photograph of his children used in a newspaper ad published by reform opponents.

The vitriolic health care debate has become personal — too personal, say House Democrats who voted for the bill and now find not just themselves but their families in the cross hairs of opponents.

A few broken windows, a few death threats, ho hum, if I said what we should do, I would get banned.

I was thinking something like Jehu and the house of Ahab

All bets are off now. If we don’t use their own tactics against them at the minimum then we have already lost. Sorry. Yeah I know, stooping to someone else’s level is normally a bad thing but these are bad times. Should we be moral when dealing with an immoral enemy? That hasn’t worked for a long time. Why should we think it will work now?

I don’t advocate violence, but I DO believe that physicians should refuse to treat ANY of the jerks who voted for this abomination.

“I think all of their addresses should be published. Let them suffer the consequences.”

Well...they have our addresses why shouldn’t we have theirs?

BTW, no, I don’t believe in violence but I do believe in peaceful protests in their districts. Protesting in their own districts makes it “personal” to them, IMO.

I also believe all this “make-believe” racism and violence is being manufactured for the Dems to use as a shield to hide behind. I feel NO sympathy for any of those traitors!

Personally, I think Driehaus was ran and funded for just these votes. He could care less what happens in November. I have to listen to him on the radio when he calls into the local station... he is a liar and pretty stupid. He made his deal for Soros money. I wonder how many other districts this happened in.

Should have thought of that before you betrayed millions of people. Live with the consequences.

To be perfectly fair, the Socialist Democraps started this battle.

Consider it joined.

Your statement is interesting. Remember the pro-aborts who chant “Keep your laws off my body” when it comes to abortion? Where are those nags now? Too busy celebrating that this law allows for taxpayer-funded abortion, I’d gather.

Minnick’s got an office in Coeur d’Alene. We can always stop by and say howdy should it become prudent and necessary.

Minnick had the good sense to vote no.

For some reason, that scene from the John Adam's miniseries comes to mind....the one that makes my husband cringe...yep, that tar and feather scene....some reason this whole scenario reminds me of that scene. You don't always need a gun to make your point!

Of course its personal....

this is a plain old-fashioned Democratic tax bill, disguised as a “health “ bill, designed to preserve and expand the jobs and benefits of the parasitic class in DC. Nothing more...nothing less. Yours and mine health care needs merely interfere with their career plans.

Would you believe that my son, who chose the Air Force in 1981 was also called a “baby-killer” by his friends and classmates?

“I don’t like the death threats.”

Neither do I but I have no problem with protesting outside these Socialists homes or even property damage.

Remember, “dissent is patriotic.”

“From the east to the west blow the trumpet to arms! Through the land let the sound of it flee; Let the far and the near all unite, with a cheer, In defense of our Liberty Tree.” -The Liberty Tree, Thomas Paine.

I’m finding reading on the lead-up to the outbreak of the Revolution rather interesting right now.

Passions and anger are running so high, I fear some sort of physical violence against the people who have done this is inevitable.

I hope I am wrong.
