After many months of rancorous debate and partisan passion, a health care reform bill has passed. What taste is left in your mouth?
- A sweet modicum of pride. A pleasant surprise to have an historic moment that didn't involve an invasion. I'm shocked and awed.
- A wasabi-like head blast. A month ago this thing was dead. It's like Northern Iowa taking down Kansas. What the hell? Props to coach Obama.
- The bitter taste of tyranny. I can't believe how unpatriotic, socialist and evil my fellow Americans are. And yes, I mean YOU. Repeal the bill now!

Haven’t read Doonesbury for decades. Does Zonker have health insurance by now? Has he even found a job? If not, shame on Gary Trudeau for keeping him poor and uninsured!
Well, it would probably be the same results at, say, a poll at the Fox News site. Don’t you think? Or at Beck’s site. Or that phone poll that Ed what’s his name does on his show almost daily. I just know better than to rely on polls like that, in which there is a built-in bias that’s in the fan base, left or right. I don’t give any of them a second’s thought. I prefer the USA Today polls, or some of the other more neutral sites.
But this thing at Doonesbury was just a fun thing, and wasn’t intended to indicate anything really.
