OK. Maybe we are recovering from yet another Obama Bounce. But of course, as Lawrence tells us, maybe we aren't. Time, as usual, well tell.

In the case of my 60 day average it is pretty much steady as you go at this point with about a +.5 jump in Obama's favor from his "peak" of -15.25 on March 21. Currently I show the 60 day average at -14.72. And it is clear even from the long term average plots that the slight bump is due entirely to an improvement in the Strongly Approve numbers. The Strongly Disapprove category is more or less steady with a slight uptrend.

Also worth noting is that, for the 60 day average, the State of the Union Bump is about to pass into history. That will naturally generate what looks like a trend in our favor as those values in the -4 to -8 range fall out of the average to be replaced, hopefully, by numbers in the -12 to -18 range. But of course it is only a trend if it's a trend. Time will tell.

Here are my updated 60 day average plots:

WOW the cross over in the disapproval numbers began just after King Obama said, “I don't know the facts, but the police acted STUPIDLY.”

And he is a law professor?? The independents, moderate democrats that voted for this loser finally realized after that presser that Obama is extremely divisive and a racist to boot!!

Beautiful graphics, as usual!

By the way, I’ve been experimenting with various regression on the Index — in the form of Rasmussen’s 3-day moving averages as reported. Try this:

Do a scatter diagram of the Index from June 1, 2009, to the present, with date on the horizontal axis and Index value on the vertical axis. Then ask Excel to draw a polynomial regression trend line. The 5th-degree and 6th-degree polynomials give very neat plots.

(I would post to FR, but I don’t yet know (1) how to export from Excel to Photobucket and (2) how then to make FR pick up a Photobucket URL.)
