I’m glad to hear that you stuck it out to and came out at the E-7 level.
My brother was busted by his self. WW-II PFC to E-6, Late forties, OCS as a PFC on his way up to Captain; where he came out for a divorce and custody battle. Then back to PFC (no slots for captains) for about a year, and then back to Captain and on to Lt. Col. Two full combat tours in Vietnam ... three Bronze Stars ... Now at Arlington (They gave him one hell of a sendoff). A good man.
