Unemployment benefits terminate after 6 months during normal economic conditions.
This isnt normal economic conditions. There are 6 candidates for every open job. The average laid off worker is jobless for 8 months.
When the jobs start coming back, then we can start milking people off the system. Until then, talking about cutting off unemployment benefits is a losing issue, politically.
That fact is a sad commentary on where our country has gotten. Damn New Deal softened Americans out of self-reliance.
