The administration can say what they wish... we are NOT in
a recovery... we are clearly in a free fall... and we ain’t seen
nothin’ yet. Just hang onto your hats when the SECOND and
REAL unemployment arrives. I’d go ahead and make the popcorn
now because you’re not going to be able to find it later.

Next week they can blame it on Spring Weather. Too many people taking vacations. Or maybe blame it on Sunspots.

(Reuters) - The number of U.S. workers filing new claims for unemployment insurance rose unexpectedly last week, reflecting seasonal volatility, according to a government report on Thursday.

Initial claims for state unemployment benefits rose 18,000 to a seasonally adjusted 460,000, the Labor Department said.

Analysts polled by Reuters expected claims to edge down to 435,000 from a previously reported 439,000 the prior week.

A Labor Department official attributed the rise in claims to seasonal volatility, mainly from the Easter holiday, and noted there were shutdowns in two states.

The Easter Holiday is a Sunday. How do holidays increase unemployment claims? The opposite is true, if the unemployment office isn't open, you can't file a claim, so the numbers are actually LOWER.

Also, when are you allowed to file for unemployment because you are off for a holiday? Do these people think we are stupid or what?

Laughing In The Face Of Financial Destruction

“Let me get this straight. We’re going to be gifted with a health care plan written by a committee whose chairman says he doesn’t understand it, passed by a Congress that hasn’t read it but exempts themselves from it, to be signed by a president who also hasn’t read it and who smokes, with funding administered by a treasury chief who didn’t pay his taxes, to be overseen by a surgeon general who is obese, and financed by a country that’s broke. What the hell could possibly go wrong?

This recovery is anemic and a double dip remains a strong possibility.

I don't call it a "double-dip". I call it a new recession due to O's anti-capitalistic moves.

“ObamaCare...on paper..is the final demented raving of a functionally insane institution...the US Congress...an entity so divorced from reality, singularly insulated from the populace it presumes to govern...by a Beltway Buffer of loot extracted from Flyover Country...that serves to distort its sensory organs toward its permanent and chronic self-sufflation and aggrandizement. The most we can hope for( and that they should pray for were they alert enough to the pending issues) is that the inevitable is less destructive than the French Revolution. It passage will be the grenade that blows the foundations out of the economy and what’s left of the bond market. Look for unemployment somewhere north of 12%...within 12months of passage.”

Fed Policy Minutes Show Double-Dip Concern
http://seekingalpha.com/article/197476-fed-policy-minutes-show-double-dip-concern

* Housing activity remained flat and the nonresidential construction sector weakened further.
* A sizable increase in energy prices pushed up headline consumer price inflation in recent months.
* The level of initial claims for unemployment insurance benefits remained high.
* Household income appeared less supportive of spending than at the January meeting, reflecting downward revisions to estimates by the Bureau of Economic Analysis of wages and salaries in the second half of 2009.
* Activity in the housing sector appeared to have flattened out in recent months. Sales of both new and existing homes had turned down, while starts of single-family homes were about unchanged despite the substantial reduction in inventories of unsold new homes. The underlying pace of housing demand likely remained weak.
