I see Cheney got new glasses; at least he won’t be shooting any more of his friends.

IT'S THE CHRISTIAN PEOPLES FAULT!!

Passover was also going on. Why didn't they blame the 'jooooos' too?

Easter = Christians = bad

That’s part of it. The other part is that these people are clueless and just throw out any excuse to diffuse and deflect the blame from themselves.

Let's see.... Jan and Feb had terrible storms. So hiring was "less than expected".

March and April have holidays, so hiring is "less than expected". May has a holiday, too. I see a pattern forming here.

BUT...JUNE has NO HOLIDAYS! It's a FULL MONTH to WORK! All of these jobs are building up behind this massive dam of "companies just not having the time to hire people" (from Jan to May ????). But, when the dam breaks in June, lookout! We'll have full employment. Guaranteed.

That's how it works, right? /sarc

how dumb do these gov't agencies think we are?

“Next week they can blame it on Spring Weather. Too many people taking vacations. Or maybe blame it on Sunspots.”

Or global warming. That’s a good catch-all for those boneheads.

I like to put things in perspective on 460,000 for people who are getting numb by all the big numbers being thrown around, and even this is a little short of that figure.

Your lack of optimism is unexpected.

June will be the month for annual shut downs at all the factories that are shut down. Hmmmm...

Remember she said there would be 400,000 jobs created IMMEDIATELY!

But Nancy Pelosi said that the ObamaCare bill would create 400,000 jobs immediately! Jobs! Laserlike focus! Pivot!

Obama has set everything in place for the economy to fail. So far, he is winning.

This leftwing socialist agenda came into office fully prepared to ‘recallibrate’ words and numbers. Be suspicious of any number they put out.

As I like to point out, the wheat harvests in the Soviet Union were usually disappointing. The government cited bad weather as the problem. Yup, from 1917 to 1989, the USSR had bad weather. Then the weather got better.

Drudge’s headline on the unemployment rise is a riot! His page has been awesome lately.

Who wants to bet there will soon be a significant decline in the total unemployed? (now that many will be forced to look for work)

If you think people are unemployed because they aren't interested in looking for work, I think you aren't really clued in to how this so-called "economy" is working.

Let me draw you a picture: I'm qualified, talented, degreed, and experienced in a field that's supposed to have great employment possibilities. (I'm a Java web/database software developer.) I'm not inflexible at all where compensation is concerned.

I've probably applied to 30 jobs since I got my layoff notice. I've gotten 4 interviews. Haven't gotten anything even close to an offer.

In five months!

And July and August, we're looking at Summer Vacations for everyone. Sept has Labor Day, so people couldn't possibly be expected to hire.

Maybe October? :-)

I just wonder if any of the bureaucrats who prep these reports have *ever* worked in the private sector.
