Some people believe that animals have souls.

The soul is the source of life. How can a cat or other animal have life and consciousness without a soul?

“Some people believe that animals have souls.”
I am not one of those people! A soul is not a requisite for animal consciousness, just a chemically based brain and nervous system! The evil of abortion is the robbery of everlasting life united with GOD in Heaven. The unborn, while not being condemned, are also not saved, since they are not baptized! You do not realize the significance of God's covenant with man, that 'together' we shall create human life! Cats are not part of that covenant, and are merely adaptive organism created for the happiness of mankind, and mankind has Dominion over them!

A better question: if animals have souls, why don’t they have spiritual/religious rituals, or for that matter religion in the first place? There’s really only so far you can go on the “everything has a soul” argument before you end up in pantheism.

Animals have to have souls. Because I believe with out souls there is no love. And believe me animals love. I truly believe my animals love me... And with out souls all animals would be the same.. Each animal has its own personality...
