Obama election-year jobs agenda stalls in Congress (Obama trying for the permanent welfare state)

The election-year jobs agenda promised by President Barack Obama and Democrats has stalled seven months before voters determine control of Congress.

Democrats have no money to pay for the program. That's because both Republicans and the Democratic chairman of the Senate Budget Committee objected to taking money left over from the fund that bailed out banks, automakers and insurers and using it for the jobs bill.

Such a move, they insisted, would add tens of billions of dollars to the $12.8 trillion national debt.

I thought the majority of the trillon dollar stimulus package was still unspent? Or is that being saved to finance 0’s reelection?

It's NOT a “Jobs bill”. It is a charge the local/state budget gaps to the Feds Master card bill. There is little to nothing in this “jobs bill” that would actually help create jobs. It just an attempt by the Democrats, for the 3rd time, to buy off their local activists with more handouts from the Fed printing press.

You want to know what Obama is up to, look to South America or Africa. Instead of a middle class, they have a elite ruling class, usually lives in condos on the beaches, and the permanent underclasses, usually lives in the uninhabitable mountains and hills overlooking the condos on the beaches.

Obama is a not an American president, more like an Africa dictator wanna bee. Maybe it’s his upbringing that bred the Marxism into him. Whatever it is, he needs a decidedly dumber population to be able to successfully run his scam on.

There can’t be “funds left over” from funds that never existed.

Here is the reality folks. The people that make the country run and who pay almost all the taxes want to destroy Obama and his Democrat party. That will happen at the ballot box this November, 2010!!! The 50% of the people that do nothing to grow America and hold their hands out for the never ending “Obama Stash” are in for a rude awakening. The gravy train is going to stop. Obama has no more stash. Obamacare is not free. There is no such thing as a free lunch. Many states, California, Hawaii, New York, Nevada, Massachusetts, Florida, Ohio, Illinois, are going broke and laying off teachers and government workers. Obama is a failed President, the worst in USA history. And....yes he is headed toward turning the USA into a third world nation, one with a deeply diminished standard of living. That is what Facism, Communism and Socialism do!!! You Americans out there “on the Obama gravy train” better get used to remaining poor for the forseeable future. Your idol, Barack Hussein Obama, is getting ready to throw you under the bus!!! Try thinking education, hard work, loving your country, earning your own way, coupled with freedom, liberty and independence. Obama has no idea of American history or what these things mean!!!

Huh. They sure have money for "free" healthcare. They sure have money for energy-restrictions. They sure have money to make illegal aliens into residents.

But no money for jobs.

Go figure.

...some of which can never be reversed unless we elect GOPers with spines. Not sure if we’ll find enough of them.

I know. The GOP can easily blow it. Lamsey Graham is trying to replace McClame as the new RINO in Chief.

They will inflict untold damage to this country within the next few months before November because they see the writing on the walls and an end to thier cushy jobs. We have to make sure we speak with one voice united when we send our new reps to Washington. We need hard core conservative action. We will not stand for bipartisanship when none of this was awarded to us. We need a straight hard steady coarse. We must not go to sleep after 2010 or 2012 either because as soon as we turn out the lights the roaches will appear. We are the majority, we must prevail

President Obama submitted a $3.72 trillion budget for FY 2010 with an estimated deficit of $1.555 trillion. After running up a $1.412 trillion deficit in FY 2009 and suffering over four million lost jobs, he claims his focus is on jobs, jobs, jobs and deficit reduction. But his focus targets “green” and union jobs (7% of private sector) rather than nationwide jobs as a whole. Claiming to have created and saved over a million jobs, he actually saved several hundred thousand government jobs. Now government jobs exceed private sector goods producing jobs.

His minuscule deficit reduction spending freeze coupled with higher taxes on the “rich” are dwarfed by healthcare “reform” and energy cap and trade spending programs (both should be scrapped and rewritten) leading to unsustainable deficits and debt and a climate of uncertainty that stifles job creation.

What to Do? Emulate the successes of Coolidge, Kennedy, Reagan, and Bush. Cut taxes and spending*. Keep the Bush tax cuts, reduce corporate and capital gains taxes to 15% or less, freeze all government spending, then cut spending!! Use Citizens Against Government Waste Prime Cuts 2010 (see http://www.cagw.org/reports/prime-cuts/2010/2010-prime-cuts.html) as a guide, saving $350 billion in the first year and over $2 trillion in three years. Scrap the 2009 stimulus and use the unspent money for deficit reduction. For more savings eliminate useless Departments like the Department of Education which has not stopped a decade’s long downward slide in education quality.

These are my Don Quixote, impossible dream, recommendations… given today’s Congressional climate.

“Now more than ever before, the people are responsible for the character of their Congress. If that body be ignorant, reckless and corrupt, it is because the people tolerate ignorance, recklessness and corruption. If it be intelligent, brave and pure, it is because the people demand these high qualities to represent them in the national legislature.... If the next centennial does not find us a great nation ... it will be because those who represent the enterprise, the culture, and the morality of the nation do not aid in controlling the political forces.”
James Garfield, the twentieth president of the United States, 1877
