Gay marriage fails to get on California ballot

(Reuters) - A challenge to California's gay marriage ban failed on Monday to qualify for the 2010 ballot, leaving gay activists mulling a 2012 push and hoping a federal court will overturn the measure before then.

Los Angeles-based Love Honor Cherish carried out a volunteer-driven signature-gathering effort after large groups decided there was not enough time to ensure victory this year, even with some polls showing more than 50 percent support for same-sex marriage.

A 150-day period to gather signatures to place the question on the ballot ended on Monday.

Wow, what a state full of hateful bigots they must be... maybe next time the Left will pass on using hate, violence, and intimidation to get people on their side and actually formulate some kind of arguable point.

But, then again...

I wonder if the Mormons and anti-gay marriage forces will investigate, harass and sue the backers of the petition. /sarc.

Perhaps today’s lecture on apathy was cancelled for lack of interest?

Personally, I would not be opposed to some sort of civil ceremony for them.

But forget about calling it “marriage”. That word is well defined, and has been in use for a thousand years, much more if earlier variations count.

Let’s call it “queeriage”.

Then, instead of being “married”, they can be “queeried”.

I’m sick of people trying to redefine/reinvent society and tell me what I am supposed to believe is right or wrong!!

They don’t report just how bad the signature gathering did. It must have been abominable.

Mormons could care less about gay “marriage” since the two are self-cancelling. Marriage is between a man and a woman for procreation; gay is...well...GAY!

If you know plumbing and computers, you know there has to be a female and a male end to make things work right. Same for marriage. Otherwise, it’s just two pipples living together. All the paperwork in the world won’t make that union a Marriage!!

And that is the point. The gay mafia are trying perpetually to redefine the word and thus far they've lost every time.

Didn’t they just do this? What, do they float a gay marriage law every year until it passes?

I mentioned the Mormons because of the flak they took for working against Prop. 8

Californian's have voted on this several times. Problem is, each time support wanes. The gay mafia knows this and no doubt thinks if it can force us to vote on it enough times it will eventually pass. I'm holding out hope that Californians will grow so tired of the issue they'll eventually vote against gay marriage simply as a punishment for these pervs having abused the system. One can only hope.

I would prefer the term “faggage.” Especially since you know all the BAGGAGE these people carry around.

But then again, I’m not for civil marriages for gays. They have plenty of legal rights to make contracts to cover inheritance, who will be their medical power of attorney, their regular power of attorney, they have the ability to specify who can visit them in hospitals just like everyone else, they have the same ability to do this just like everyone else.

leaving gay activists mulling a 2012 push

push????

I hear that the most common line at gay bars is (said with lisp)”can I push in your stool”

Let’s do the math....CA has a population of roughly 37 million, LGBTXXXX community has claimed they are 10% of population...so that gives them 3.7 million in CA and they’re telling me they couldn’t collect 150,000 signatures. SF alone shoulda put them over the top. Gimme a break!

So does this mean, since I live in California, that I can go grocery shopping for the next two years without some queer standing at the door asking me to sign another petition to put queerage on the ballot? I certainly hope so.
