Western Man and Liberalism
Global Politician ^ | Kyle Bristow

Posted on 04/12/2010 5:29:35 PM PDT by ventanax5

Over the years, political scientists and sociologists have attempted to figure out what causes a person to adhere to liberal beliefs. James Burnham, a communist theoretician who eventually became a right-winger, argued that “liberalism is the ideology of Western suicide” and observed that “once this initial and final sentence is understood, everything about liberalism—the beliefs, emotions and values associated with it, the nature of its enchantment, its practical record, its future—falls into place.” Dr. Michael Savage has suggested that liberalism is a mental disorder, whereas others have opined that liberalism is nothing more than a secular religious movement that naturally occurs at the twilight of the life of a civilization.

I believe all these descriptions are accurate of liberalism, but there is a reason why a person is a liberal: they are pathetic and are unable to come to terms with their pathetic nature other than to join a political movement that includes other pathetic individuals in order to shove their pathetic ideals down the throats of normal people. When one looks at the tenets of liberalism—craving egalitarianism, adherence to moral relativism, acceptance of perversion, promotion of wealth redistribution, opposition to the natural law right of self defense, and hatred of nationalism—one can only conclude that this assessment is correct.

When discussing gun rights, liberals—who have a peculiar phobia of weapons—ridiculously think that guns are the cause of problems in society and that they should be banned. Liberals love the weapon bans that have existed in places such as Washington, D.C. and Chicago, and even though women are raped and older people are robbed because they cannot defend themselves from thugs, liberals applaud their sick and twisted accomplishment of depriving people of their natural law right to defend themselves from harm.

Dead wrong. Liberals have nothing against guns. They despise the people that own them. They don’t want to take a way the guns, they want to dominate those who do not want them taken away and actually LIKE guns and their many benefits.

Interesting point of view; I have yet to meet any true liberal who owns a gun, much less likes them. And I’ve lived in both Washington D.C. and Chicago, both towns covered in liberals. I guess your point is liberals like to command goons with guns to take away guns from non-liberals so they can lord over them? That makes sense; they don’t to handle the means of potential violence nor want to pull the trigger themselves because they are basically cowards which is why they won’t survive if there is a true uprising against them.

Yeah, they got to pay for someone to hold on to their guns and bibles..I gotta do it myself...I like my chances better than theirs in a showdown...the contempt on the part of the left for anyone who owns or shoots or hunts with guns is palpable. That’s why they can make those gaffes so easily...it’s the way they talk and the way they think.

In the liberal worldview, guns assume angelic qualities when wielded by agents of the state, often the very same models they demonize under private ownership.

I think liberalism is a suicidal approach, disgusting on many levels but,

The author lost me with this one: “A liberal would consider it “racist” to point out that the Dinka people in Sudan are subhuman for performing oral sex on cows to make them lactate and taking showers in their urine to turn their hair orange.”

Don’t know much about the Dinka people, but I assume by definition they are not “subhuman”. Also, why use the example of a non Western primitive people? I think it is either racist or just ignorant to say a primitive culture is “subhuman” and I am no liberal.

“the Dinka people in Sudan are subhuman for performing oral sex on cows...”

Interesting name for them given their “husbandry” duties.

It would not surprise me in the least bit to one day see liberal Hollywood create a film in which a heavily armed FBI agent mows down shotgun toting farmers. It has probably already been done!

Personally, I think that it is a miracle that liberalism even took root in Western countries, because historically, Western cultures killed off the offspring of their people who were deemed pathetic. Do you think for one moment that the Spartans permitted pathetic people to exist in their society? The Norse? The Germanic tribes? Where the white liberals come from, I have no idea—there is no evolutionary basis for it whatsoever.

My theory is that liberalism took root specifically because of advanced technology and the prosperity it brings. When people struggle to survive, no one would tolerate liberals. Now, technology provides plenty, protects us from brutish reality, and gives us the luxury to entertain these nonsensical ideas. Further, when survival is no longer at issue, employing common sense makes people seem judgemental and “mean”. Those who go on flights of fancy seem reasonable because it sounds good and we are insulated from the consequences of our actions.

Thanks for the quote. I guess you’ve got it correct. It’s one I want to remember and use to annoy my “liberal” friends (?).

“...[liberals] actually like guns and their many benefits..”

I was once acquainted with a retired Army colonel who had been a battalion commander in Vietnam, and who had become a screaming McGovernite & Reagan-voters-suck liberal. We turned to the subject of souvenirs brought back from from RVN; he allowed that he owned an SKS rifle. When I suggested hypocrisy on his part, he thundered back that he would turn in HIS rifle only AFTER all those dangerous rightwingers had been required to turn in their own.

Interesting, no?

Very insightful young writer.

It’s a bit surprising that, for all the unpleasant but accurate things said about liberals on Free Republic, it’s rarely that anyone attacks them as cowards.

Liars, yes. Traitors, yes. Bullies, certainly. Haters of the God of the Christians and the Jews and all that is good and decent in His creation, absolutely

But young Mr. Bristow highlights an aspect of the liberal mindset that we would do well always to remember.

Indeed, I get this strong gut-level sense that the deceit, treason, brutality, and atheism all spring from the fact that liberals are basically sniveling cowards who can’t face life.

Unable to rationalize their cowardice any other way, they have channeled it into an incoherent yet undeniably potent political system.

I can state from experience that I have members of my immediate family who order their entire lives around their personal fears and hangups.

They quite literally stick their fingers into their ears if I ever utter a discouraging word about Emperor Bozo the Usurper or suggest that many members of Congress don’t care about anything but lining their pockets at the expense of the taxpayers.

Free speech for me but not for thee ... even in the domestic sphere it all works the same rotten way.

Agreed about cowardice being the root. But as revolting as this might sound, I don't think it's compelled cowardice, but chosen cowardice - cowardice as a deliberate strategy towards life, to support a level of selfishness that is literally incomprehensible to the psychology of a true adult.

The process of adolescence is the transformation of childhood selfishness into the acceptance of adult responsibilities. Liberals refuse this change - absolutely, fundamentally refuse. And so they must constantly seek ways to survive as physical adults while still indulging in childhood selfishness. The only way to do this is by adopting cowardice as a strategy, because cowardice will always lead to decisions that avoid adult responsibilities.

Unlike true childhood, which is innocent in it's selfishness, liberalism leads to a revoltingly hypocritical and craven life, predicated upon self-loathing and the destruction of community and dignity and the adoption of constant lying, cruelty and violence towards, literally, life itself.

But hey, every goal requires some sacrifice.
