Yes, it is also about the financial trainwreck that is just around the corner for this country. The Tea Party protests, like anguished screams in the night, are both a warning of impending doom, and an impassioned plea for help and a return to fiscal sanity.
I fear we’re past the point of no return. The ‘progressive’ agenda requires alot of revenue. Obama’s policies are narrowing the tax base when it should be expanding it. In other words there are fewer taxpayers and a larger need for taxes. The deficit spending WILL be curtailed by interest rates. (We’re paying over $300B/yr in interest with rates this low. Our interest payments will be over $500B by 2015, BEFORE the health care debacle passed. Our risk of default is going up so will interest rates.
Greece is now paying over 7% on a ten year sovereign note.)
