Update: I've obtained permission to publish an email forwarded to me and posted it in full below. For the record, the permission did not come from the original sender named therein.
Instapundit links to a Mediate item which cites Debbier Schlussel. While her narrative may fit somewhat, Schlussel has been on an anti-Hannity kick recently fwiw. I've had some contact with folks from the TP group in question. I've also read an internal email I don't yet have permission to publish.
It does appear to have been a Media Matters op that got to Fox News. I've been told there were no special prices for seating near Hannity's set, said prices were set before any cooperation with Sean's show was established. They were floor-priced seats, some of which would be re-arranged to accomodate the set.
There were also VIP seats at $100 a pop which came with passes to a restaurant and seating closer to the speakers. But it's said that had nothing to do with Hannity's set. If people thought that, they were either just wrong, or misinformed somehow.
It's claimed that planning for the event was underway when it was learned Hannity was coming to Cincinnati for his book tour on Tax Day and was planning a separate event. The group held off on signing a site contract because of the risk of competing events. They thought they might actually lose attendees if Hannity's event drew people away.
At that point there was some contact with Fox producers and they agreed to loosely cooperate, but no contract, or cost sharing was in effect. Sean would cover the event for Fox and would broadcast his show from Cincinnati. It was assumed it would be win win for everyone....

Had to be a source bent on destroying something good.
Makes sense. If Hannity were announcing that tickets needed to be purchased, then its a bit lame for Fox to have backed out for such a reason. Only thing I heard was the even organizer saying that any overage of proceeds would go back into the Cincinnati Tea Party coffers. What else were they supposed to do with them? I suppose they could give them to a charity somewhere, but then people would be whining that nobody had authorized them to do that. The left is scared to death at the Tea Parties and they should be. They are the one true threat to the coup. And, united, they will win.
Excellent write up. It seems that Mike Wilson is sincere about what happened. There may be some factors he is not aware of (he has a day job after all), but this is a credible explanation.
They are trying to hurt our troops and veterans by undermining and destroying this program. They are also trying to smear Sean Hannity. They are slimy liars and are beneath contempt.
Which begs the question is all this vitriol spewing forth from Debbie Schlussel really because Soros has gotten to her with a boatload of $???? her anti-Palin diatribe the other day was over the top.
Wouldn’t surprise me.
And now she has turned on Pamela Geller.
ALERT ... Possible False Flag APRIL 19th, Million Man March Massacre
Research & Report on this Joker Vanderbough. This video is kind of like insurance, you decide what you believe
The provocateur, Mike Vanderbough (3 percenter) and organizer of the Armed March 4-19-10 in VA. (just across the river from DC). This same guy recently called for people throwing bricks through the Dem. Headquarters windows and helped the MSM in trying to label Patriot movement as violent is now calling for people to show up armed on 4-19-2010. He is from Alabama and admitted to me he has had a long term relationship with Morris Dees, founder of the SPLC. The same org. that is demonizing the Patriots, Tea Party, etc. Also, according to one source [snip]
— youtube included
I don’t care if she poses like a diva, her face is no more kind and alluring than her columns are.
Oh boy. He’s definitely unstable. Connected to SPLC? Agent provocateur?
It appears so, and his face is shown on a youtube there. Kudos to JustPiper.
This reminds me of something Howard Hunt wrote about, dirty tricks the Nixon campaign used. Very sophisticated if I understand this correctly.
I believe social media and email are two of the most powerful tools we have in countering the lies and spin.
Please forward these links to anyone who has been lied to by the media and politicians about the Tea Party Movement.
(Which of course is everybody),
The True Face of the Tea Partiers
Media Matters sure seems to have a burr under its saddle over Fox News!
That’s would be because George Soros has a burr under his saddle because they are not giving his boy Barry a free ride like the rest of the Soros-paid media.
The far left has always hated the United States military, veterans and family members.
What kind of long term relationship? Morris Dees is a serial adulterer and wife beater. He beat his ex wife so severely he broke her jaw.
I wish JustPiper were posting right now. But she started her own blog.
