“one has ever suggested they are ‘intentionally’ causing accidents...”

In Mexico, they do exactly that.

The way I see it is he is either lying about supporting securing the border just to get re-elected or if one does believe him then he has been asleep at the switch if he is just now realizing the scope of the problems on the border. To me it doesn’t matter whether people believe him or not he still needs to go. A liar or incompetent- what a choice.

An old tactic in Mexico brought to you courtesy of Ted Kennedy, Juan MaCain, Democrats and RINO’s.

What idiot, and I mean stark, raving mad lunatic, thinks that Bush has or had anything to do with illegal immigration?

You must have missed the part when he said he was coming back to the District of Corruption to ram amnesty through. BTW I voted for Bush twice. Facts are stubborn things.

Did he finally spend a couple weeks in Arizona and go WTF did I do?

Don’t blame the Church. That’s like blaming the department store because the bank robber is spending some of the stolen loot buying stuff. The Church is filling a need.

Don’t blame the illegal alien. That’s like blaming the 4 year old for shooting his sister with the handgun left carelessly about. No, don’t blame any of those players.

BLAME THE GOVERNMENT, ALL LEVELS. The government is no better than the used car lot or the slum lord. They simply want customers. The PROBLEM IS THE GOVERNMENT. They are ignoring upholding the law. They are acting in an illegitimate manner.

The government is acting in utterly selfish and self serving manner on this issue. They are not serving the people at all. They are the sole source of the problem. The government is the problem. Not the church. Not the illegal. The government. People like Savage and other needs to stop beating on the wrong party.

And Obama didn’t invent the problem. No, that would be the bureaucracy that earns a living off the existence of social service customers. Obama didn’t create the wave. He’s just here to ride it.

Right on!

I've no animus whatsoever against the ordinary illegal. Were I in their situation, I would likely do the same thing -- go where the jobs are.

Nor do I hold any animus against those employers who hire illegals. Their competitors are doing it. And, seemingly, there is no penalty for doing so.

My animus is reserved totally for the federal government -- which has failed to do its duty for over twenty years. They haven't defended the border, they haven't enforced our laws.

Now, they propose to sell American citizenship on the cheap -- diminishing the value of us all. The Democrats would do this for the rankest of political reasons. The Republican party have conspired in this outcome for short-term economic reasons.

The federal government has failed to do its job! And they are looking for excuses to keep not doing it.

Sure, cleaning up the mess they've made is going to be a tough job. But the future of America demands that we make them do it!

Want a good reason to detest politicians? There is no better reason than the illegal alien issue. They have failed us...and the entire country.

John McCain! Go to hell! Where you belong...

Source? Oh wait, let me just list your excuses (”don’t have time” , “do your own homework”) for Bush having never said such a thing.

Pathetic.

“The political process sometimes isn’t pretty to look at,” Mr. Bush said. “There’s two steps forward and one step back. We made two steps forward on immigration, we took a step back, and now I’m going to work with those who are focused on getting an immigration bill done and start taking some steps forward again. I believe we can get it done. I’ll see you at the bill signing.

Dude, legal immigration ain’t the problem!

You do grasp the distinction between “legal” from that of “illegal,” yes?!

You do grasp the concept that the "immigration bill" Bush was referring to was the Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act of 2007, sponsored by Sen. Reid of Nev., and based largely on previous legislation written by Sens. Kennedy of Mass., McCain and Kyl of Ariz., and Graham of S.Car., right?

Yup. Legal immigration with penalties for violators. You know, the opposite of “amnesty.”

Legal immigration with penalties for violators.

The penalty for unlawful presence is deportation.

Enforce the law. Anything less is amnesty.

Oh, and one more thing: the McCain-Kennedy bill (as well as its successor bills) would constitute an un-Constitutional ex post facto law, as it would have retroactively changed the penalties (punishments) for unlawful presence by a foreign national on United States territory. Such laws at the Federal level are explicitly forbidden by Article I, Section 9 of the United States Constitution.

To: rabscuttle385

Nope. You can change punishments without a law being ex post facto.

Fantasizing what comprises “amnesty” so that you can use that as a buzzword against all who differ in opinion is a fool’s errand.

Either you don’t know what “amnesty” means, or else you don’t care.

And re-typing the nonsense that you’ve posted above won’t cut it.
