His response should be “We will be happy to comply with any law adopted by the state legislature.”

Yep, one would think if things were on the up and up that would be the correct response.

EXACTLY!!! WHY are they “scoffing”? If it’s no big deal why are they nervous??? The only thing I’ve seen if that they think Obama will be able to produce the one that he gave to Factcheck... OOPS I mean that Factcheck’s folks came to HIS office to LOOK at... Silly me — I had forgotten their story has changed...

.... see how they respond if Texas does the same

Ohio, Pennsylvania and Florida. And make it apply to all elected officials, even if a foreigner is allowed to be a dog catcher.

B. The national political party committee for a candidate for president for a party that is entitled to continued representation on the ballot shall provide to the secretary of state written notice of that political party’s nomination of its candidates for president and vice president. Within ten days after submittal of the names of the candidates, the national political party committee shall submit an affidavit of the presidential candidate in which the presidential candidate states the candidate’s citizenship and age and shall append to the affidavit documents that prove that the candidate is a natural born citizen, prove the candidate’s age and prove that the candidate meets the residency requirements for President of the United States as prescribed in article II, section 1, Constitution of the United States.

C. The secretary of state shall review the affidavit and other documents submitted by the national political party committee and, if the secretary of state has reasonable cause to believe that the candidate does not meet the citizenship, age and residency requirements prescribed by law, the secretary of state shall not place that candidate’s name on the ballot.

Not sure it will make much difference...the most likely effect will be a lawsuit with standing to determine once and for all if a person with a father who is not a US citizen qualifies as a natural born citizen. And I suspect Congress would weigh in preemptively and pass a resolution answering that in the affirmative.

There is one thing that I can do that the President of the United States cannot do. Show my birth certificate to any one who asks for it..............

There must be quite a fire underneath this smoke - why else would they react like they’ve just been singed?

and that other states will follow

Makes no difference. All it takes is ONE state with a law like this and Obama has to fork over his proof or retire from office. Refusal to comply would be devastating to his reputation (such as it is).

personally, I was stunned to learn that there was NOT an existing mechanism in any state to verify that candidates for POTUS met the constitutional qualifications.

Because nearly all previous presidential candidates lived public and verifiable lives.  No one could conceive of a fraud with the cojones to run. Chester A Arthur fiddled with his fathers foreign birth. Can't think of any others except the Bamster. Some say John McCain didn't meet the standard due to not being born on US Territory. A US military base would be considered US territory but McCain was born in a US military hospital that sat on land leased from Panama. So the story goes

When Obama is proven to be ineligible for the presidency, it would be nice to have a list of politicians who made fun of the Birthers.

Excellent point. We must all watch AZ. and see what the Obama Regime does when it is time to file papers in that state to run for re-election.
