No one has a right to promote jihad against the US in the US.

I agree. When they incite violence and insurrection in the name of their jihad, they should be charged with crimes, tried and hopefully convicted.

Your comparison of Japanese and Germans in WW2 is not apt. Islam is a set of beliefs and belief inspired action, people can convert. Japanese and German nationality cannot be compared.

Actually, it is a direct and apt comparison. The Japanese, Germans and, to a lesser extent, the Italians, went to war because of their beliefs during that period, as much as for a desire to control raw materials. The Japanese believed their Emperor was divine, and there was a strong religious element to their reasons for making war. The Nazis believed in their German -- Aryan -- master race. There is a direct correlation between that Nazi belief, and the Islamist beliefs regarding their superiority vs. the inferiority of "infidels."

Religion also played a huge role in why the Nazis did what they did to the Jews. Like all derivatives of Marxism, their own beliefs amounted to a secular quasi-religion, really an anti-religion belief system. It is the basis on which the Nazis persecuted and denied the humanity of people who practiced the Hebrew faith, as well as Gypsies, non-Aryan Catholics, Christians and others.

The way to deal with Islam in the United States is to discredit it, not to tear up the First Amendment by denying that it is even a religion and using that excuse to suppress it.

I’m not saying it’s not a religion, I’m just saying that part of the religion is to wage jihad against all non-Muslims, and therefore it is an evil religion.

Your comparison to Japanese and Germans is not apt. Japan and Germany only waged wars of aggression for a few years. Islam has been doing it since 700 AD. Nonstop. It’s intrinsic in their very belief system, and if you know any history of Islam at all, you would know this. The only reason Islam is spread all over the world is because they have given millions of people throughout history the choice:

The Koran or the Scimitar.

...or “terrier” or “terrible”, as they may be seen as etymologically-related terms...

I agree with those who see sinister roots of violence in the Koran. Granted the jihadis are worse than those who are not. But the mosques have been taken over by the radicals, so de jure no, but de facto yes—the “religion” is promoting violence. The leaders are like the Mafia and intimidate all those who are not of like mind.

At least under Bush we had moles in the mosques to keep tabs on what is going on. I’m not sure we do any more. Even if we get Peter King back in there as chair of the homeland security committee, he says the administration is not sharing data with Congress. If we don’t take some kind of action now, we will have no Constitution, because we will have no country.

That CT vehicle owner could easily have sold his SUV to a “Latino,” who then turned it over to the ‘terrorist(s).’ The first sale might not have been the last sale of that vehicle.

Sure need to round up the rest of this terrorist ratpack though — wonder if any managed to leave the US or if they are lurking around somewhere — Darien, CT is nice in the spring!

That’s IT! Must’ve been a Katrina vehicle - water damage - Bush’s fault!!!

RE: “That’s the danger of selling to an individual. He may register it and he may not.

I’ve always wondered what if I sell to some guy and he doesn’t re-register in his name then he wrecks and kills someone. Can I be sued?”

**************

Here in CA, the few times I’ve sold a car to a private party, I’ve taken the party to the DMV immediately to register the vehicle in his/her name on the spot! No way would I hand a vehicle over to someone else without knowing they’d put it in THEIR name.

Any pressurized tank of gas will explode under the right circumstances and make the container a dangerous projectile.

As well, any completely filled cylinder of oxygen or a similar gas that has it’s top busted off can act as a random “missle” hurled into the air.

But that is very different from blowing the entire car apart with an actual bomb.

I said:
Right, so according to you, all religions, even if they include murder and human sacrifice should be allowed to flourish unfettered by government interference in the US.

You said:
I didn't say that, and you know it. I'm going to assume you're way smarter than your over-the-top response to me would indicate. You know what I've been getting at, so think through ways that we can deal with the Islamists without trashing our Constitution in the process.

You think that was "way over the top"? OK, let's leave out the human sacrifice factor and just concentrate on religions that condone murder...LIKE ISLAM!

I'll repeat the modified question:

According to you, all religions, even if they include murder, should be allowed to flourish unfettered by government interference in the US.
