Which is exactly why I refused the automatic enrollment into our company's 401k plan. I'm taking care of my own retirement funds and although they are not collecting interest, they are still under my complete control and the government can't touch it.
My only worry is hyperinflation, and I'm about ready to start converting some of my savings into precious metals that will not be within the governments reach.

The secret may lay in NOT having a 401K plan for them to monitor and pillage......which is why we cashed out our Roth IRAs last year (still had to pay the penalty for early disbursement, but since we bought Au and Ag, we're way ahead in the long run).
