Palin Backs Fiorina In California Senate Race
Real Clear Politics ^ | 5/6/2010 | Mike Memoli

Picking sides in another competitive GOP primary, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin endorsed Carly Fiorina in the California Senate race.

"Carly is the Commonsense Conservative that California needs and our country could sure use in these trying times. Most importantly, she's running for the right reasons," Palin writes in a Facebook post announcing her choice. "She has an understanding that is sorely lacking in D.C. She's not a career politician. She's a businesswoman who has run a major corporation. She knows how to really incentivize job creation. Her fiscal conservatism is rooted in real life experience. She knows that when government grows, the private sector shrinks under the burden of debt and deficits. We can trust Carly to do the right thing for America's economy and to make the principled decisions she has throughout her professional career."

I guess this means Fiorina is automatically a conservative now that Palin endorsed her. I know a lot of Freepers here think she can do no wrong

I hope she is better as a poliician than she was as a corporate executive

her opponent was low-class and proved it on Hannity.

When invited on with Hannity AND Carly, he went on an anti-”carly fiorina did this and that” tirade every opportunity he had to speak, while sitting RIGHT NEXT TO HER. It was not the time for that- it was the time for a discussion of the country’s ideals.

he sounded like a Classless politician

I don't understand this endorsement at all! The real conservative in that race is Chuck Devore. Fiorina seems to be a “McCain” type candidate who will be just another millionaire RINO in the Senate. I'm disappointed in Palin.

I am surprised. The tea party endorsed DeVore and he is by far the most conservative in the race.

She may think he has no change so she is going with who she things is better between Fiorina and Campbell.

She is not all that conservative but not bad if Ca can send someone other than a socialist to the senate.

I would really like to see some of the more conservative states like ND, SN, MT, CO, NE, the whole south, .... elect real conservatives instead of the ‘bring home the bacon’ socialist they normally elect.

The Juan influence on Sarah. Carly Fiorina was one of Juan’s campaign adivsors and spokesmen, and Sarah is sticking with the Juan Republicans.

As a Native of California and who will be voting in the
primary next month, I agree with Sarah.

We look to vote for the person who is closer to Conservative views BUT, who can also beat Barbara Boxer in Nov.

California is a Liberal State. Ronald Reagan would not be voted in as Gov. today as he was years ago.

The idea is to throw out the Far Leftist Barbara Boxer.

No. The point is all three GOP candidates are in a statistical tie with Boxer. Therefore, you might as well go with the conservative, which is DeVore. Palin-supporters on this thread are trying to make the argument that Carly can beat Boxer and DeVore can't, so let's go with Carly. But, that poll shows all three GOP candidates have the potential to beat Boxer. So, again, might as well go with the conservative DeVore.

I wonder what SPECIFIC policies of Fiorina's that folks are opposed to?

The only one I can come up with, as a CA voter, is she is a little too light on the illegal alien business.

that's a deal killer for me, but for the most part she APPEARS to be a (c)onservative on the fiscal front. Genuine.

The other day Fiorina received the endorsement from

Big-name conservatives organizations, like the California Pro Life Council and National Right to Life

Ok. Both DeVore and Fiorina are pro-life, both have received endorsements. However, DeVore is the only conservative in the race. Just a reminder:

Fiorina: There is a "racist tone" to immigration debate.

Campbell, DeVore Support AZ Immigration Law, Fiorina Undecided

On C4P:

Carly Fiorona can create the contrast with Boxer. She is also clearly in a better position to win the primary and then prevail in the general election than DeVore. She has raised a lot more money in her campaign than DeVore in a state where it is very expensive to advertise. Fiorona has also shown throughout her career that she's willing to fight for what she thinks is right regardless of the political consequences. That spirit should remind you of another prominent conservative Republican woman. There's a reason why liberals attack Fiorona much more than they attack her two primary opponents. The left recognizes that the strongest possible opponent for Barbara Boxer is someone unafraid to take the fight right to her.

The Juan influence on Sarah.

She would be nothing if he hadn't picked her. But by picking her, he destroyed her.

This poll indicates that Carly is not the strongest possible Boxer opponent - that DeVore, in fact, is just as strong.

Chuck DeVore (R) 39%

I imagine that she has raised more money due to her contacts in business. Not exactly an endorsement in today’s environment. If she raised more money due to individual contributions, I might change my mind.
