Facebook turns on Palin
Politico ^ | 5/06/10 | Andy Barr

Former Alaska GOP Gov. Sarah Palin's endorsement of Carly Fiorina in California's Senate race has prompted a fervent blowback on her Facebook page, long Palin's safe haven for delivering her message.

The revolt is coming from Palin supporters who also back Chuck DeVore – a tea party favorite who is campaigning against Fiorina in the Republican primary.

Palin’s Facebook page is littered with comments opposing her endorsement of Fiorina, the former CEO of Hewlett Packard.

“The only REAL CONSERVATIVE is Chuck DeVore. Fiorina is a RINO and we don't need any more of those in [California],” one irate commenter wrote. “Why wouldn't you back Chuck DeVore???”

“Sorry Sarah but I think Chuck DeVore is the conservative candidate you should be supporting,” added another, who was followed up by a DeVore supporter who wrote: “I don't agree with this endorsement AT ALL! What are you thinking Sarah?”

"She’s bold, smart, and willing to follow her own political instincts - NOT the will of the blogosphere. Devore could not win. Fiorina can. Politics is about who can win, not who has the purest ideology (according to someone’s own personal standards). Those who can’t understand basic political facts will be forever frustrated."

Lots of losers on these threads. The permanently frustrated is a good way to describe them. No wonder it's 20 plus years between viable conservative candidates - they're pawns for the Republican Establishmnet, whether they know it or not.

If you think DeMint is a RINO you really do have your head up Palin’s ass.

Hey, don’t get me wrong... Sarah is a Conservative and much more so than most. It’s just that this political stuff has warped her just a bit. I would like her to stay her original self and quit trying to please the middle as she seems to be doing... Stay true to your beliefs and for goodness sakes ignore the media!

So you want us to vote for Carly? Just like Californians did for Arnold instead of McClintock ? I know it’s a different race here, but I would rather have the other side win than be betrayed again by voting for another RINO.

I find it hard to take seriously a poster who activated their Palin account AFTER the 2008 election.

Why is that odd, for a long time Palin was the only thing holding the conservative movement together, until her courage and outspokenness emboldened others.

The first thing that Palin did in those dark days when Obama was moving into the White House and all seemed lost for years, was to help us keep a Senate seat in a special election in December of 2008, in an impressive show of her campaigning skills and desire to, fight to win.

Now there is your real RINO who brown nosed Mitt in 08

DeMint is good. Not perfect, but not a problem. The problem is pissant and his ilk - tearing down one on our side to build up another - seems like vichy conservativism to me.

"Let's see...the perfect conservative or the communist...hmmm...since I can't have the former I'll take the latter..."

Good plan.

What you have here are males who don’t like strong women and use every other angle to attack rather than their real obsession.

Bitchy gals who are jealous Of Sarah’s looks.

And the assorted Liberal Trolls

Wow, just wow...

If CA republicans elect RINOs, it won’t be DeVore’s fault, anymore than it was McClintock’s fault the moronic voters chose Arnold.

Agreed!

Can a real conservative actually win in California these days?

Seems like the best we can hope for, realistically, is the least Communist candidate..and then keep inching back to where we belong - just the way the rats have taken us left...inch by inch.

You are up there in fungus corners and seem to live your life through others.
When was the last time you were out countering demonstrations and marches.
I have countered many anti war, Code Pinko rallies,
countered the pro Hamas Muslims, and just Sat countered
over 1,000 Mexicans with their Marxist flags and signs.

I know what a Conservative is, I worked for Reagan when
he first ran for Gov.

I think Sarah wants you to vote against Campbell, and that DeVore has as much chance as Duncan Hunter had as a presidential candidate.

And I think she badly wants Boxer out of the Senate.

It's about steps in a direction, and Sarah is spot on. People complain about Scott Brown, but think about steps...think how far we got to move away from that filthy bunch from Hyannis.

We have to fire Reid and Pelosi. And, guess what, Schumer would likely replace Reid if Reid loses in Nevada and the Repubs don't retake the Senate. How do you like the sound of Senate Majority Leader Chuck-U Schumer?

Sarah looked at the numbers and went for the Politics of the Possible, because Senate Majority Leader McConnell sounds a whole lot better than Schumer.

If CA republicans elect RINOs, it won’t be DeVore’s fault, anymore than it was McClintock’s fault the moronic voters chose Arnold.True, but when it comes down to it, the only fault DeVore can claim yet is getting Campbell into the GOP Senate race for the Republicans.. which he is now seemingly determined to do because now it is personal.

If the guy was running at 35% now the story would be completely different but he has to almost triple his number of supporters to get to that jumping off point. I would love if we could see him win, but its not possible.

Imagine what the race in MASS would have been if we insisted that a candidate who could get only 13% of the Mass Republicans to support them as the only worthy candidate.. no Scott Brown. Now, Brown is a RINO!!!!!

For 2010, perhaps the last election held in the USA if Obama and company have their way, any R is a win.

People were going all wobbly legged about him and saying Brown for President and I said watch out you are going to regret him and soon. But, for all of that.. that 41st Vote has been mighty handy and would be better if McConnell were replaced by DeMint. But we live in the real world where you have to deal with what is rather than what we would most like.
