If it weren't acceptable for legal purposes, then the State of Hawaii wouldn't hand them out. Janice Okubo of the Hawaii Department of Health said the electronic document "contains all the information needed by all federal government agencies for transactions requiring a birth certificate" and that the U.S. Supreme Court recognizes it "as an official birth certificate meeting all federal and other requirements."

Hawaii has already fallen all over themselves in some very murky ways—their cred is sinking fast. They are scrambling by obvious executive dictate.Their claims that they have “SEEN” the docs when law prohibits this except by permission of the individual raises eyebrows.

Case after case on this board and others of individuals required to present their LONG FORM BCs for visas and all other legal requirements abound.

My wife and I took a trip to Jamaica in 1990. I was told I would need to show a Birth Certificate for travel. I produced a Certificate of Live Birth thinking it was the same thing and found out otherwise. I was told something to the effect that it was not an official government document, only a certificate provided by the hospital.

Luckily I found this out a few days in advance and still had time to get an official Birth Certificate.

So the answer is NO, a COLB is not equal to a Birth Certificate.

The word “federal” was used quite a bit in that crappy interview but why federal? What do HI residents use for DMV which isn’t federal or for other purposes that aren’t federal? Is there a document acceptable for state purposes that we’ve never seen?

Using the word”federal” will be their cover when the truth comes out. Or so they think. Our constitution isn’t the Federal Constitution, it’s the US Constitution.

That interview (?) was THE most pathethic thing I believe I have ever seen on TV. Boy! my nerves are shredded already so I’ve given up FOX for the most part. I can’t imagine
what they would be like if I tuned in to CNN very often.

Cooper could have let it go and let the attorney speak for the Lt. Col. but he wasn’t about to do that. He knew he’d been had so he pounded on the ridiculous questions. How do you know your boss Gates is a legal citizen? You’ve been following orders for 20 years in the military, how do you know those orders were issued by a legal citizen? Those answers could have been given by a 2 year old.

Cooper, smug, smirky and arrogant and a pathethic excuse for a human being. Why would the Colonel and his attorney even agree to such an interview?? They had to know ahead of time how unreasonable it would be.
