Another McCain Advisor Can't Name One Energy Accomplishment (cheerleading amnesty!)

ANDREA MITCHELL: Let me show you what one of the potential running mates had to say just last night on CNN with Wolf Blitzer. When Wolf asked Mitt Romney what proposals, what legislative accomplishments Senator McCain has produced. Let's watch this.

WOLF BLITZER: Can you cite one legislative accomplishment that Senator McCain produced during those 26 years in Washington in order to achieve energy independence?

MITT ROMNEY: Well, I'm not a historian that goes through all of the pieces of legislation John McCain has worked on.

ANDREA MITCHELL: Carly, don't you think that Romney could have had a better -- better response as a surrogate for John McCain than that he's not an historian? It sort of reminds people of that old clip of Dwight Eisenhower when asked what Richard Nixon had accomplished when he was his running mate.

CARLY FIORINA: You know, I find the question frankly a little odd because I think the point of the energy debate going on right now with the American people is what must we do now, given where we are. The reality is -

ANDREA MITCHELL: But isn't his record as well that's on - you know, isn't John McCain's record in 26 years in the Senate also one of the issues that people will be using to decide whether or not to support him?

CARLY FIORINA: Oh, I - absolutely. And I think John McCain's record of 26 years is an incredibly rich one, not only of legislative accomplishment, but also of reaching his hand across the aisle and achieving those accomplishments in a bipartisan way. And I cited just a few minutes ago many examples of that, whether it was immigration reform or whether it was taking on Jack Abramoff

stupid gotcha question imho. Why don’t they ask what Obama has done. That question should be directed to the person you’re referring to.

Ah .... piffle ...

Wolfie ...
“Can you cite one legislative accomplishment that ANY Senator produced during those 26 years in Washington in order to achieve energy independence?”

At least McCain is pro-nuclear and helped put pro-nuclear stuff into the 2005 energy bill. But the fact is DC has done a terrible job on this, mainly because of the idiot enviro-whackos.

Maybe Carly will do for Californian Republicans what she did for HP.

Carly made two major strategic moves during her tenure as HP CEO. First, she spun off the technical equipment division, which was the core HP business from its inception (analogous to alienating limited-government conservatives in the GOP.) Second, she accomplished a merger with Compaq at the insistence of Wall Street and over the objections of many shareholders and employees (analogous to embracing the big government RINO types.)

Neither strategy was very successful for HP. Under her leadership, HP stock went from $52/share to $21/share. Over the same period, its closest competitor, Dell, went from $37 to $40. And the company’s stellar reputation for product quality has been in shambles ever since.

Infoworld magazine declared Carly as the “anti-Steve Jobs” for reversing the goodwill of American engineers and for alienating existing customers. Portfolio magazine listed Carly in their list of “The 20 Worst American CEOs of All Time”.

“Why don’t they ask what Obama has done.”

Why bother? The Democrat respondent would reply “Green Jobs” and that would be that.

I recall reading a speech that she gave at the world economic movers & shakers conference in Gstaad.

It was the damnedest collection of touchy, feely New Age bullshit I'd ever read. She sounded just like my sis, the social worker.

I remember thinking any CEO who believes this stuff is incapable of making good business decisions.

The question should be, “Since its inception name anything the Energy Dept has done to move us closer to energy independence”?

No they have not. They work with the IEAE (El Baradei)
to STOP all US independent energy patent applications.

The DOE has put its foot on the neck of cold fusion and
all alternative energy for the oil industry and the
enemies of the USA, while it studied ... the human genome.

I may just change my mind and vote for DeVore after all. Talk about a barf inducing statement.
