Tim Rutherford, VP of Senior Citizens, Inc. said, “we can't scoff at their rules, he said, referring to federal authorities . It's part of the operational guidelines.”

Does anyone know EXACTLY what the rules are that this food service VP is referring to? Does anyone know the EXACT wording of the guidelines this guy is referring to? Is there a copy available online of the guidelines he is referring to? THIS is something we need to see.

The policy was revoked because of public pressure. This demonstrates the need to remain ever vigilant and shine the light of truth on these fascists. The war for freedom does not involve only major battles in Washington and the State capitols, it is going on day-by-day in every small town and neighbourhood across America.

Old folks that want to pray are banned from doing so and if they don't like it, why they can go hungry because the new Uncle Sam is a crusader against religion.

Bullcrap. Let them bow their heads in silent prayer. If the feds assume they're praying, let them try to prove it. For all the feds know, they were taking a moment for silent reflection on the generosity of Gaia and the wonders of multiculturalism.

Who cares what they say. Do it anyway. Force the issues and make Big Gov. Inc. have to try to enforce their silly rules. They can’t do it.

This center in Georgia is taking $5.50 in "federal money" and adding 50 cents of its own.

The $5.50 comes from taxpayers all over the country, some of which would be fine with the prayer, and some who would not.

So it's just like schools. You've got to cut that federal umbilical if you want to be free.

Sorry, but that’s wrong. There is nothing anywhere that says “Your activities have to be completely non-religous if you receives federal funds”

Does the government prevent people who receive food stamps from praying? Are religous groups allowed at high schools or colleges that receive federal funds? Are there chaplins in the military?

This was an administrator reading too far into the “separation of church and state” rules while ignoring “the free expression of religion” piece of the Constitution. Nothing more.

#1- I don’t jump through other people’s hoops. What makes you think you are important enough for me to reply to?

#2, in truth I was not able to get to a computer for most of yesterday due to tech. troubles so I never saw your question until just right now.

#3- I wasn’t the one saying there WAS such a law it was the moron running the senior meals program.

Vaguely remember that UMass co-ed bathrooms.

How come your sister’s roommate’s shoes made the diff?

So essentially many people today are comfortable with the coed restroom idea, having already been implemented in some Universities. I’m sure the dons of yesteryear would agree /s.

Most likely the real problem was that no one could agree on a common prayer. The senior citizen's center is open to all seniors, and they had a committee get together and come up with an acceptable prayer for all. One committee member wanted to end the prayer with "In Jesus' Name, Amen." Another wanted to end the prayer with "Praise be to Allah!" Another wanted to end with "Be it so, praise Gia!" Still another wanted to end it with a clap and a shout. Another wanted to end it with "Have you hugged a tree today, Amen!"

Well, you can imagine how it ended up. The gummint, who takes tax monies from all religions and non-religious seniors as well, knew it would never be able to serve a meal in peace with everybody chiming in with their particular prayer because it sounded too much like everyone was speaking in tongues and the Pilgrim Holiness and pentacostal contingents objected because it wasn't true tongues.

Maybe they could pray for the $0.55 portion of their food. How could the feds stop them from praying for the food that they bought. I think the creamed peas need a lot of prayer. They have got to be less than 55 cents per serving.

"I think the creamed peas need a lot of prayer."

As a recipient of such a delight on many occasions, I can heartily agree. More prayers for the peas, please!

So they'd think it was her roomie in the stall.

If you view it in the context of an 18-year old girl who'd been raised in those halcyon days when modesty was actually considered a virtue, it might make more sense.

She was just making a joke to illustrate her discomfort; I guess (not for the first time) I failed to make myself clear.

You have a good idea. Although personally I would cast creamed peas into the lake of fire. Without a moment's regret.

At times when I go out to music joints, the convention now seems to be unisex restrooms - only one person at a time but either gender.

I honestly don’t know how women put up with this. Especially as the night wears on.
