TAMPA - Several political blogs are reporting that the city of Tampa will be chosen to host the 2012 Republican National Convention.
The RNC has not made it official yet, as the vote and subsequent announcement is scheduled for Wednesday.
The Atlantic, a monthly political magazine, says Tampa has a 90 percent chance of winning the bid.
Tampa is up against Phoenix, Ariz. and Salt Lake City, Utah. Online outlets say Phoenix will likely lose the bid because of the recent heat Arizona has been getting for their newly passed immigration law. Local news reports from Salt Lake City are also pointing to Tampa as the winner.

the Florida vote is way more important than AZ for the Electoral College. There are easy roads to the whitehouse without AZ, but long ones without Florida. This is a good move IMO.

Tampa is much better than the liberal cities the RINOS usually pick.

Volunteering is good, but partying is better! And, it should be a great time to party!
Lot of pubbies will be getting their asses handed to them (metaphorically, of course) via Tea Parties and will be more than happy to toe the party/conservative line....again!
I can only hope that is why. FL had 27 EC votes and AZ had 10 last time. Either that or Jeb is going to use it as a platform or George P. Bush or something....
Jeb was a very good Gov and would make a better President than his brother, but we’ve had enough of that family.

They should have given it to Phoenix.
They have one in St. Augustine as well now, but nothing beats the original in Tampa.
Better pray no hurricanes during the convention, which will likely be the end of August. Phoenix would be a great place to have the convention if it were in February.
