Financially impossible? In Barack's own words his mother states that they would return to Kenya - here is an excerpt from his own book (although still debating whether his own words, but whatever).



So, from these words I would say that yes they were able to afford to go to Kenya around his birth time.

They were planning on going back AFTER Barack Sr. FINISHED HIS STUDIES. At that point, he'd have a job lined up in the Kenyan government, who would most likely foot the tab for his relocation.

Who would foot the bill, the equivalent of one year's average Hawaiian's salary, to go back while they are STUDENTS? A furniture salesmen (Stanely's father)? A bank teller (her mother)? Barack's relatives, tribal Africans show live in grass huts?

Get real.
