I love Laura Bush; but Laura never ran for Office and I never voted for 'her'; so her opinions, I can take and/or reject. It does not change my opinion of her as First Lady; where her private - and 'very private' opinings did not impact our larger 'body politic'.
I did however, vote for her husband - both times - and his Father for that matter; and while there is a 'for better' and 'for worse', the better of GW, saved our Country from a worse fate on the world stage - such as the fate - so damning - now being cast by our current President.
I do not agree with Laura's opinion here; and true to her 'grace' a First Lady - again, unlike current Fist Lady - we were NEVER forced to suffer them.
Agreed.
I am not surprised at all and not shocked. Most women I know while disapproving of abortion wouldn’t interfere with another womans decision. And most people I know don’t get het up about gay marriage figuring that God will sort it all up later.
She has a right to her opinion and I still admire her enormously. She was a Lady, a good wife and a wonderful first lady who never made us ashamed of her.
I was about to say "Mr. Cricket" then thought "Mrs...?" or "Sir...?" or "Madam...?"
I just wanted to offer thanks for your insight and reason.
I love them both--even more now that I see how much like me they are.
Well stated.
