Mexico Immigration Law

The article that follows by Dr. J. Michael Waller should be an eye opener to liberals who believe in open borders and loose immigration enforcement. Mind you, this is the law of the land in Mexico, the third-world nation that has encouraged millions of its citizens to invade America. It is also the same country that threatened to take the U.S. to the UN for building a fence on American soil!

Let's Try It Here at Home By J. Michael Waller, Citizens for a Constitutional Republic

Mexico has a radical idea for a rational immigration policy that most Americans would love. However, Mexican officials haven't been sharing that idea with us as they press for our Congress to adopt the McCain-Kennedy immigration reform bill.

That's too bad, because Mexico, which annually deports more illegal aliens than the United States does, has much to teach us about how it handles the immigration issue. Under Mexican law, it is a felony to be an illegal alien in Mexico.

At a time when the Supreme Court and many politicians seek to bring American law in line with foreign legal norms, it's noteworthy that nobody has argued that the U.S. look at how Mexico deals with immigration and what it might teach us about how best to solve our illegal immigration problem. Mexico has a single, streamlined law that ensures that foreign visitors and immigrants are:

•in the country legally

•have the means to sustain themselves economically

•not destined to be burdens on society

•of economic and social benefit to society

•of good character and have no criminal records and

•contributors to the general well-being of the nation

The law also ensures that:

•immigration authorities

Why the hell not? The libs in charge look to foreign law to justify their nutball ideas, so why not take this approach. Hey Mexico, we so admire your immigration laws that we are going to emulate you. Right down the line.
Might actually work too.

Brilliant way of looking at this...we must use language and logic better than the Left if we ever hope to beat them.

They’re so corrupt they can’t even inforce their own laws either. It looks good on paper but in reality it’s just “bun fodder”.

They do if your driving a car with US tags on it. Then you have to offer them a “mordida” or bribe.

Some Congressman should introduce the bill, in English, as is, just to introduce some honesty into the argument. Where’s Tancredo when you need him?

An enterprising Republican should offer the Mexican law into Congress. Watch the fur fly!

Yeah: the "Open Borderites" claim to have so much respect for Mexico: but they sure's hell aren't going to adopt Mexico's immigration laws.

Another puzzling claim is that “comprehensive immigration reform” is sensitive to the wants and needs of immigrants and of minority people. Actually, the evidence reveals that most immigrants, like most U.S. minorities, believe both that immigration is already too high, and that more law enforcement is needed to encourage the illegals to go home.

The following figures* are from a survey of Hispanic-American, Asian-American, and African-American likely voters (i.e. citizens who hase voted in the past) conducted by Zogby International; sponsored by the Center for Immigration Studies. Link: http://cis.org/Minority-Views-Immigration

*(Percents don’t add up to 100% because I omitted “don’t know” and “other” responses)

1. Most members of minority groups think immigration is too high.

Is immigration……… too high... too low.... just right
Hispanic-Americans 56 7 14
Asian-Americans: 57 5 18
African-Americans: 68 4 14

2. Most members of minority groups think that illegal immigration is not caused by limits on legal immigration, but by a lack of enforcement.

Illegal immigration caused by… legal option too limited … lack of enforcement…
Hispanic-Americans 20 61
Asian-Americans: 19 69
African-Americans: 16 70

3. Most minorities feel that there are plenty of Americans available to fill unskilled jobs.

Unskilled jobs:… More immigrants needed… Americans can do it
Hispanic-Americans 15 65
Asian-Americans: 19 65
African-Americans: 6 81

4. As a solution to the problem of illegal immigration, most members of minority groups choose enforcement to encourage illegals to go home, rather than approving a plan for conditional legalization.

Illegals should…….. Be encouraged to go home Be offered conditional legalization
Hispanic-Americans 52 34
Asian-Americans: 57 29
African-Americans: 50 30

These views are in sharp contrast to the leaders of most ethnic advocacy organizations, who argue for increased immigration and legalization of illegal immigrants.

Republican: "I'd like to introduce into the record HR ABCD, "IILBOML", "Illegal Immigration Laws Based on Mexican Laws"." Since certain countries in the global society, such as Mexico, and certain factions of American pro-illegal alien groups feel that the United States is 'racist' and 'bigoted' and 'intolerant' when enforcing the current laws concerning foreigners crossing into this country illegally, by all means, let's follow the laws of a much more enlightened country, like Mexico! In fact, since Mexican law is much more stringent than current America laws, I think it would be a great improvement in the security of this country to apply them here as well!"

Democrat: "Why are you wasting our time? There are already FEDERAL LAWS AGAINST ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION ON THE BOOKS. Adding additional laws forbidding foreigners into the country would be redun....uh, wait a minute..."

D'oh. ;-)
