Man is in control of the damns that block the flow of the Colorado River and can stop the river from flowing at any time below the damns to maintain flood control. Who’s in control of the water that makes up the Colorado River is another question all together.

Any known faults absent recent activity historically speaking means pressure is building and the clock is ticking until the faults slip to relieve that pent up pressure.

Many small earthquakes over a period of time is okay. One big earth movement is a bad thing.

I’m in San Diego too .. and I felt the 5.3, but I didn’t the two smaller ones that followed.

The 5.3 was about 68 miles east of San Diego and the smaller ones were a few miles farther east.

Since we had the 7.2 in the same area, the quakes seem to come in swarms .. several at a time + or - a few miles of each other.

Amazing how something so obvious is largely unnoticed by the general public.

Even with the ‘facts’ available to any scientist, and most of the public, many still deny that the Earth grows in size.

Add to that the fact that the Earth changes it ‘shape’ in response to gravitational pull from the Moon (and the rest of the solar system).

It’s a wonder we don’t have Hundreds of Earthquakes a day, here on Earth.(/big grin on face)

Do you see MORE earthquakes happening? Or is this typical?

Yes there will be more and yes this is typical.

Can you provide a link to that image? Thanks.

Nope. I created it by a screen capture from Google Earth. The USGS offers a database of recent earthquake activity that generates the dots you see on the Google Earth map.
