NOAA still spewing climate-change BS...
Ocean Stored Significant Warming Over Last 16 Years (May 19, 2010)
http://www.noaanews.noaa.gov/stories2010/20100519_ocean.html
The upper layer of the worlds ocean has warmed since 1993, indicating a strong climate change signal, according to a new study. The energy stored is enough to power nearly 500 100-watt light bulbs per each of the roughly 6.7 billion people on the planet continuously over the 16-year study period
We are seeing the global ocean store more heat than it gives off, said John Lyman, an oceanographer at NOAAs Joint Institute for Marine and Atmospheric Research, who led an international team of scientists that analyzed nine different estimates of heat content in the upper ocean from 1993 to 2008. ...

NOAA: Warmest April Global Temperature on Record Also Warmest January-April (May 17, 2010)
http://www.noaanews.noaa.gov/stories2010/20100517_globalstats.html
The combined global land and ocean surface temperature was the warmest on record for both April and for the period from January-April, according to NOAA. Additionally, last months average ocean surface temperature was the warmest on record for any April, and the global land surface temperature was the third warmest on record.
The monthly analysis from NOAAs National Climatic Data Center, which is based on records going back to 1880, is part of the suite of climate services that NOAA provides government, business and community leaders so they can make informed decisions. ...

I bet those volcanoes under the ocean dont have anything to do with it. It’s all anthropogenic
One grows weary of debunking the nonsense. They can spew out this gibberish faster than we can counteract it because nonsense doesn't require any rigorous scientific verification and truth does. Lord Monckton is one who is indeed up to the challenge though.

When I need to turn on 500, 100 watt light bulbs, I’ll get back to you. Until then, STFU.
Part of the communist takeover, rationing, and taxing of Energy.
The weather is politicized.
Oceans store heat and will release heat in the form of currents and storms, most notably, hurricanes, cyclones and typhoons..........
Wait, so now we’re hiding the heat in the oceans? I thought warmer oceans would have reulted in vastly more catastrophic hurricanes? Certainly not what we have seen these last 5 years. And still - where’s the evidence that it’s manmade?
Sigh... I am not a climate scientist, nor do I play one on TV, however...
1. Our recent El Nino is fading. Where does ocean heat go? The atmosphere. The catastrophic AGW crowd loves to see an el nino heat up the atmosphere and call it global warming.
2. When the ocean throws up its heat into the atmosphere it is a net cooling event. Sure, temps get warm for a time as the heat convects into the atmosphere, but eventually it leaves the earth via radiation.
3. They are going to get to the point (if they haven't already!) of calling cooling -- warming. Just to maintain the agenda...
4. With La Nina on the way, a quiet sun and a volcano in the Northern Hemisphere, I suspect cool conditions are forthcoming.
The Pacific Decadal Osciallation will take care of this and some.See here
It's not either. Volcanoes throw off relatively little heat (or CO2 for that matter). Anthro CO2 creates some warming, but a good part of the fluctuations are natural. There's no all or nothing answer.
Yep, and more importantly the 2000 thunderstorms at any one time on the planet.
And as we all know, these things NEVER happened before the invention of the Internal Combustion Engine!............
“Here we go again. Any of you out there in Freeper-land up to the challenge to debunk this nonsense? “
Ok, first things first, the light bulb is a stupid example because it means absolutely nothing. Second, the question of whether or not there is a increased rate of warming in the upper ocean in the past couple of decades is far from settled (cue shock and horror from the “scientists”!). I’ve read the Willis/Chambers paper(I think one of the nuts holding the float) and related papers about global sea-level rise and they have NOT shown a unambiguous special-increased trend (i.e.present decade warming) compared to other decades in the last fifty years. I’ ve no idea why they think they need to make these statements. So much for scientific integrity.
