Yesterday, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie had a little dust-up with teacher Rita Wilson. Upset over Christie’s education budget, Wilson complained that she wasn’t paid enough and got sharp rebuke from the governor:....

Hmm. Well, based on this PDF from the Rutherford, New Jersey Board of Education — it looks like Ms. Wilson makes a salary of $86,389.

You’d be surprised how many people, after years of tax withholdings, have no idea what their actual salary is.

No matter how much money the tax-funded, union-run government schools take from you by threat of force, they will insist that it is not enough.

She could be an economics teacher. It’s a NJ public school, after all.

So, lemme get this straight: She’s complaining about her $87,000 SALARY? Which doesn’t even include her very generous BENEFITS?

This lady needs to live in the real world for a bit.

Not surprising that teacher’s don’t know how to read their paycheck stubs. I can’t believe she is so stupid and makes so much but then again when I was working for the DOD and DHS there were a lot of 6 figure do nothing know nothings.

Because the schools aren't about education at all. Education is just protective coloration. They're really about collecting and spending huge amounts of money.

Failing at real education actually assists them to achieve their real goal, which is collecting and spending even more money.

She should have had her ass canned on the spot by the school’s superintendent. Don’t whine about your damn salary and expect to be employed. There are far too many people more qualified than herself that would jump at her job.

Plus, as shown on page 5 (http://www.rutherfordschools.org/boardofed/boardofed/minutes/minutes2009/MT071309.min.pdf), she gets a $652.50 stipend for a co-curricular assignment called Interact. That makes $86,991.50.

Plus benefits on top of that.

For nine months work.

This morning, Mike Gallagher played the audio of this teacher’s run in with the governor. She loudly said that she wasn’t being compensated for her time or education and he replied, “if you don’t like it, go do something else.” hahahaha

At least $120,000, I would think, but you might be right.

And how much does she actually contribute to health insurance? The cost of health insurance takes a huge bite out of a lot of people’s paychecks. Wasn’t part of what Christie was asking of teachers was to pay more for their health insurance (like the rest of us)?

If this woman hasn’t a clue what she makes, she is simply too stupid to be teaching anything to anyone.

If she “deserves” $83K, cut her salary down to it and then let’s listen to her kvetch & moan!
