I should note that the dems talking points include a slam at AZ about the MLK holiday. They claim we rejected a law to honor the day. We did not. The law was declared invalid for some reason. The problem was that Ev Mechem was the gov at the time and he was a total incompetent.

The voters then voted in the holiday in the next election.

It was an executive order issued I believe by Bruce Babbit. Ev thought the people should vote on it, not have a Gov. declared holiday. He rescinded it by executive order. The NFL pressured AZ. It was put on ballot and voted on.
