It is almost a sacrilege to say it, but what a Hell of a producer that well and that field would have been. I suppose the field is still viable but that would have been a super well.

True.

During a routine maintenance check, power went out, causing a valve to open and channel oil into a storage tank, which overflowed. Oil streamed into a bermed secondary containment area.

Any idea why an actuated valve going to a tank would fail open? My only guess is a divert valve and the inlet shut.
