WASHINGTON (AP) - President Barack Obama's top energy adviser says the Gulf oil spill is probably the biggest environmental disaster the country has ever faced. And she says the government is responding with what she calls its largest environmental response ever.

Already it's been called the biggest oil spill in U.S. history.

Browner says more oil is leaking into the Gulf of Mexico than from any previous U.S. oil spill—including the Exxon Valdez spill off the coast of Alaska in 1989.

Government estimates say that between 18 million and 40 million gallons have been dumped into the Gulf.

Browner spoke on NBC's "Meet the Press."

God give us guidance. Well said.

Yes, His whole administration has been a teaching moment.

Even the Leftists in America are starting to come awake. The Gays, the hippies, Hollywood, everybody hates Obama.

They are learning what happens in *reality*(a word they are not all that familiar with) when all their ‘hate America’ rhetoric is actually put into action.

He has fundamentally changed America. But not in the way he expected.

Leftist are now on their own much vaunted ‘endangered species’ list.

What kind of Messiah is he anyway?<sarc Jesus turned water to wine, did Obama think by simply showing up at the water that he could make it pure? lol

Gee, since he thinks he is the Messiah maybe he should try walking on water ... IN THE MIDDLE of the ocean. I believe he would sink just like his approval ratings!

“This was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal . . .” -Barack Obama, June 4, 2008

He portrayed himself as the Messiah, a very high and dangerous perch on which to build your nest. The wind of fate are strong and the storms are unpredictable.

Several generations have been resting on the laurels of the *Greatest Generation* which, on Memorial Day is especially ironic. Until the welfare state kicked in - Americans from every ethnic, economic and academic level - were motivated to succeed, in a free society, to the best of their capabilities.

Socialism does not create opportunity or improve circumstances - it stunts growth, causes problems for which the solutions are more taxes, more control and more government jobs.

Marxists = slave-owners by another name.

"Who can we really put the blame on?"

Well, what group of people are the nut bag environmental wackos?

The Democrats.

For the record, there were two bad accidents in Alaska last year. Not as bad as a blow-up but.....
They were fixed within 24 hours.

I’ve been looking at my bookmarks. I’ve got bazillions of them.

Here’s one person opinion...Charles Krauthammer at Wash Post.

Here’s my question: Why were we drilling in 5,000 feet of water in the first place?

Many reasons, but this one goes unmentioned: Environmental chic has driven us out there. As production from the shallower Gulf of Mexico wells declines, we go deep (1,000 feet and more) and ultra deep (5,000 feet and more), in part because environmentalists have succeeded in rendering the Pacific and nearly all the Atlantic coast off-limits to oil production. (President Obama’s tentative, selective opening of some Atlantic and offshore Alaska sites is now dead.) And of course, in the safest of all places, on land, we’ve had a 30-year ban on drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.

more to blame but it starts with the enviros....

Sure Obama’s helping the people of Louisiana ....

.... the same way he helped the Chicago Olympic Committee, or the Martha Coakley Senate campaign, or the NJ Governor’s race, or ....

This guy has the Anti-Midas Touch

Good grief! What did the Juan-meister say although he is so stupid i would not be surprised at anything that comes out of his mouth. I’d love to find video link to him blaming George Washington to “share” with some liberals and get their reaction.

I thin his comment was something to the effect that Sestack type maneuvers go all the way back to Washington,or something to that effect.

The contradiction between Juan's stupidity and Liz's brilliance were so night and day it was really eye opening.

Althought this disaster will rank high as a political gaffe for Obama showing his inexperience once again, I cant really blame him in reality anymore than Bush deserved the Katrina political blowback. Yes Obama should have visited Louisiana before now, but in many ways its just a hollow political visit...its all politics. That being said, I hope this sinks his presidency. This man is against my god, church and country.
