Feds Sentence Two Illegal Immigrants for Carrying Nearly 150 Assault Rifles Into U.S.
Fox News ^ | June 03, 2010 | Associated Press

McALLEN, Texas -- Two Mexican nationals caught in Texas with 147 assault rifles, 10,000 rounds of ammunition, high-capacity magazines and bayonets have started serving short federal sentences after pleading guilty to entering the U.S. illegally.

Federal prosecutors released the names of Damaso Alberto Rueda Cabrera and Arnulfo de la Cruz Sanchez on Thursday along with the unusual announcement that the men made their initial appearances in federal court, pleaded guilty and were sentenced to terms of 10 days and 45 days, respectively, all on Tuesday.

In a prepared statement, U.S. Attorney Jose Angel Moreno said the investigation continued and no further comment would be made by any of the agencies involved. U.S. District Magistrate Judge J. Scott Hacker sentenced both men. Marissa Perez-Garcia, head of the federal public defenders office in Laredo, said she had no comment on the case.

Laredo police pulled over the two men Saturday afternoon. Police said it was the biggest weapons seizure in the area in years and that while the investigation was ongoing, it appeared clear the guns were destined for Mexico.

De la Cruz, 53, of Nuevo Laredo, Mexico, waded across the Rio Grande into Laredo on May 28, according to court records.

Rueda, 20, of Reynosa, Mexico, was the driver and had been in the U.S. since illegally crossing the border Dec. 15, 2008, according to court records.

To all who wonder what a U.S. citizen would get for similar activity.

Up to five years and a 250,000 fine, PER VIOLATION!
If the weapons were transferred to person under 18 years of age, the prison sentence could be TEN years per violation.

So a U.S citizen would be looking at 735 to 1470 years in prison.

No wonder the illegals feel free to flaunt our laws, they know any punishment will be insignificant compared to what a citizen would be risking.

Then they get sent home, and commit the crime again, repeat until they are wealthy enough to buy a nice hacienda and some young peasant girls to %$#@&!

Probably not. No one will. It’s gotten too far.

This border thing is far worse then anything right now.

We have no protection. The government is useless.
There is so much going on, we’ll never go back
to what we once were. We’ve been sold out.

“Distraction from something going on elsewhere?”

Exactly right!
BATF was in dire straits, being sued by their own agents for racial and sexual harassment, mismanagement, etc.
Congress was about to hold hearings, there was chance ATF might be disbanded and their responsibilities given to the FBI.

ATF needed a big bust to “prove” how important there are to save their agency.

So when a UPS driver reported that a box he was delivering broke and he saw it contained inert practice grenade hulls, ATF sprang into action.

Legitimate searches and arrest do not include inviting the media to attend.
The intended dog and pony show went south quickly, little things like failing to bring the search warrant, trigger happy agents, ruined the show.

Google for details if you do not remember, or read the book “This is not an assault”.

Mexican Revolutionaries in America

One of Bill "The Bomber" Ayers’ courses at the U of Illinois includes Pedagogy of the Oppressed as required reading. Author Paulo Freire, a Brazilian Marxist, declared: “This, then, is the great humanistic and historical task of the oppressed: to liberate themselves and their oppressors as well.”

It turns out that the Freire book is required reading in “Raza Studies” or Mexican-American courses in the high schools in Tucson, Arizona, where students have been protesting Arizona’s new immigration law. Other required books are Occupied America by Rodolfo Acuña, a professor emeritus of Chicano studies at California State U in Northridge (CSUN), and Prison Notebooks by Antonio Gramsci, the Italian Communist.

"Occupied America," the fifth edition, includes an image of Fidel Castro on the front cover, and Castro and Che Guevara on the back cover. It refers to white people as “gringos” and actually includes a quotation on page 323 from Jose Angel Gutierrez of the Mexican American Youth Organization (MAYO), who was angry over the cancellation of a government program. He declared: “We are fed up. We are going to move to do away with the injustice to the Chicano and if the ‘gringo’ doesn’t get out of our way, we will stampede over him.” (Excerpt) Read more at aim.org ...

Reconquista shock troops. Signs seen at Phoenix Capital protest, May 29, 2010.

But, but, when Calderon whined about Arizona, he didn't tell the Congress all o' that (/snix)

===================================

REVVING UP RECONQUISTA The Mex govt is creating conditions to drive millions of invaders into the US to begin Reconquista....and is even facilitatting drug cartel gun violence to hurry the process.

Mexican govt is cuing its citizens over the border......creating new classes of US refugees whining to get tax-subsidized "Political Asylum to protect them from Drug Wars."

HOW? Social Security has a "persecution" classification (originated when Eastern Bloc refugees claiming religious or political persecution. (AND GET THIS: Connivers from circa WW II eastern Europe and other Soviet satellite countries are STILL collecting).

The Mexican govt is coaching its citizens to pour into the US, whining about "persecution from drug violence." Some of these whiners are wealthy phonies, squatting on US soil, intent on draining the US treasury.

THE RIPOFF UP CLOSE A Social Security category provides outrageous government financial aid to "refugees" claiming "persecution from drug violence." These phonies never paid a dime into the SS system; yet, they can collect seven years straight...... and can get extended payments if they are politically well-connected. The SS checks can amount to $1000 a month, and more.

In fiscal year 2008, the US government received 47,459 asylum claims and granted 10,743 - a decrease over the previous year's 54,957 applications and 12,807 approvals. (Immigration attorneys insist that asylum applications won't spike if the administration expands protection to battered women of spousal abuse).

======================================

MORE WAYS THAN ONE TO DRAIN THE US TREASURY Illegals are crying "domestic violence" to collect. "How are asylum authorities going to substantiate these claims when we know that domestic violence is a complicated thing," said Ira Mehlman, a spokesman for the advocacy group Federation for American Immigration Reform. "This is getting the US into personal relationships, and that's not where asylum law ought to go."

Mehlman said his organization opposed expanding the asylum law (which was created in 1980 largely as a means for Communist Bloc citizens to defect while visiting the US in a diplomatic role.) Backers of the law at the time estimated that claims would average around 5,000 a year and drop off significantly after the Cold War ended.

====================================

Most of this money goes back to their home states and into federales' pockets. Corrupt Third World governments obviously use the same playbook---"How To Personally Profit By Draining the US Treasury."

None of the guns were illegal. They were just semi-auto clones. There’s another thread here on FR that includes a video showing closeup shots of some of the guns.

Say what? 45 Days!

Delivering a load like that w/ no FFL, felons in possession, illegal aliens in possession -- These guys ought to be getting 40 years!

To be fair, any rifle seized by police is immediately an “assault rifle” to the media. Usually an “AK-47” is used to describe anything with a wood stock.

Just sayin’.

No license is needed in most states, including Texas where these guns were seized.

Wait a second. If I had 1 of these rifles, I’d get far more than 45 days in prison.

>>>10 days and 45 days? I wonder how long a citizen convicted of possessing such an illegal/unregistered arsenal would get?

Yeah, I’d be in federal prison decades for the same crime.

Okay, everyone’s point about the media and “guns” is made. But, my point remains that we’re being overrun with illegal aliens—many of whom are engaging in urban warfare of various sorts. We can’t ALL be blind to this invasion from the south!

I tend to believe this story is probably understated rather than overstated. Why would the liberal media want to UP-play guns by illegals? It doesn’t make sense, unless they’re trying to declare that America is the reason Mexicans have guns, which is, of course, bogus.

When they try to put us all in those detention camps for being violent rabble-rousing tea-partiers, I hope they remember that we are the only ones paying taxes to support their arugula, free healthcare for illegal aliens, and the only ones left who can add and subtract.
