(Obama's) Killing The Drilling

The Economy: As if the latest measly numbers on our jobless recovery weren't bad enough, along comes the administration to pile disaster upon disaster by slapping a six-month ban on deep-water drilling.

When President Obama visited Louisiana on May 1, he talked about the possibility that the oil gushing from BP's Deepwater Horizon well could "jeopardize the livelihoods of thousands of Americans who call this place home." Now the administration's response could jeopardize the livelihoods of tens of thousands more.

In a letter sent to Obama on Wednesday, Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal challenged the president's decision to suspend deepwater drilling for six months while a presidential commission to which the buck has been passed tries to sort things out.

People wind up begging him to do exactly what he wants to do, shut down all the gulf drilling. He wants $8/gallon gas.

Come 'n listen to my story of a man named Barack
poor Kenyan kid spent the country into hock
And then one day while he was fundraisin', dude
well up from the Gulf came a bubblin' crude
(oil, that is. Pollutant, for SUVs)
Well the first thing you know, the folks began to stare
His pollsters said, "Barack! Stay away from there!"
They said to Chicago is the place that you should ride
so he got on Air Force One and he flew on up to Hyde
(Park, that is. Ex-terrorists, hate preachers.)

(The Washington Home-boys)

Cheers!

Something that has been a burr under MY saddle regarding this BP oil rig problem, and Zero and his crew doing nothing but bad-mouthing BP, and threatening them, while the price of BP stock goes into the toilet, the way it LOOKS like they WANT to destroy BP as a corporation.

How could we find out WHO has been SHORTING BP stock since about the time the oil rig exploded? How many White House insiders have gone short on BP stock?

That would be similar to the way Shrillery Clinton shorted pharmaceutical stocks while bad-mouthing them and predicting a takeover of them in 1993..........before HER government healthcare plan was shot down, that is.

Another convenient crisis fitting right into his plans. Maybe just a little too convenient just like the economy melt down just in time for him to exploit to help him into the Presidency.

I'm not one of those people who think that there are no such things as conspiracies. Conspiracies are ramped in history and this country is not immune to exceedingly evil people without regard for human life doing whatever it takes to get power. I believe that communist inspired infiltrators are in all levels of politics, companies and even churches. I believe that they are orchestrated and ready. At their heart they may also be Satan worshipers who true goals are to fulfill the devil's purposes. In the end everything boils down to what is going on in the unseen world of the spiritual. It is good vs. evil. Thank God in the end it is good that wins.

HOUSTON -- Houston's economy will be hit hard as the government puts new rules in place that will block all new offshore drilling in the Gulf of Mexico, according to experts.

Houston is gong to be double whammied this fall when the Johnson Space Center, along with the Kennedy Space Center, gets virtually shut down due to obama's new so-called "Space Program" ("Maybe we can go to an asteroid")

This fall, EVERY SINGLE PERSON at the Kennedy Space Center will be fired. Then they can 'reapply' for jobs - at entry level pay, insurance, etc...7,000 will remain unemployed. An additional upwards of 35,000 base-dependent area jobs will be lost, plunging the area into a 15-18% unemployment. (The same scenario for Houston.)

Now add the tragic economic losses coming from the oil spill - including the beaches, ALL of Florida's beaches are threatened as the Gulf stream carries the oil down the west coast, around and up the east coast.

But hey, most of these states whose shores - and economy - are being devestated were "red" states. (Like Tennesee and Kenntucky, who are still pulling out of the devastating 500 year flood. NO FEMA, not even acknowledgement for days from obabma - then just a glancing remark. NO HELP. People flooded out of their homes, loss of power, etc etc - NOT important in red states?)

Let them eat cake.

This is going to be an interesting issue to see Palin try to pivot and lead on. It could cut for or against her depending on how she handles it—and I’m not betting against her.

yup, right you are, they are already planning on moving the rigs to other parts of the world and drill. Right now, we get one third of our oil from the GOM.

Who are BP’s bedfellows - the ‘big oil’ guys?

Bush and Cheney are at fault here, says obama.

Why isn't the press hammering the truth on this one?

http://www.reuters.com/article/idUSTRE64420A20100505

“Obama biggest recipient of BP cash” - for years.

And the WH recently WAVIED scheduled inspections on the rig - indeed, were on their way there to give them an award.

HELLO? hello? anybody there....

and here's another “smoking gun” - which of course, has been all over the news (NOT)
It seems that the rig was due a visit from the WH folk bearing an award, the same WH who waived the scheduled inspections. Was this part of the reason BP gambled and ignored Schlumberger's warning? (Company calls for helo to get it's people OFF THE RIG - just before it blew.)

Why is no one talking about all the money we supposedly put away since 1994 to buy all these clean up plan.

The Oil Spill Liability Trust Fund (OSLTF)
http://www.uscg.mil/npfc/About_NPFC/osltf.asp

History of the Fund

In August 1990, when President George H. W. Bush signed the Oil Pollution Act (OPA) into law and authorized use of the Oil Spill Liability Trust Fund (OSLTF), the Fund was already four years old. Congress created the Fund in 1986, but did not pass legislation to authorize the use of the money or the collection of revenue necessary for its maintenance. It was only after the Exxon Valdez grounding and the passage of OPA that authorization was granted.

The largest source of revenue has been a 5-cent-per-barrel tax, collected from the oil industry on petroleum produced in or imported to the United States. The tax was suspended in July 1993 because the Fund reached its statutory limit. It was reinstated in July 1994, when the balance declined below $1 billion, but expired at the end of 1994 because of the sunset provision in the law. The 2005 Energy Policy Act again reinstated the tax (effective April 2006).
