Yeah it is...Used it when I was teaching first graders...Help them understand what a legend was and what was based on truth or thing that we have proof to substantuate.

We learned AMERICA and some children get upset with the line "Land where my fathers died" Explained what forefather are with pictures of my forefathers, my grandparents and my grandmother's grandparents. (I also had the rolling pin that that grandfather made for grandma for her 8th birthday)

Then I explained that the grandfather's grandfather was probably in a camp described in Yankee Doodle....There was General Washington upon a silver stallion, a giving orders to his men I guess there were a thousand ....Told them the story (comparing it to the cherry tree story) and with the picture by Tully, they were hooked!
