I agree. If it is a joke it sucks on the humor part. In fact as much as I want to wrap my mind around the humor it just doesn’t fit.
So if this is supposed to be humor they could have done a much better job.
I don’t believe that the conversation would have been in English. Much like the signs written in English around supposed cruise missile strikes.
English is being used in all the communications between the Israelis and these ships. Go to the IDF’s Youtube page and listen to all the various exchanges. All in English.
Most international aviation and maritime radio traffic is in English. If you are a French pilot, landing in Spain, you speak to ATC in English.
