Have they explained just what-in-heck kind of *emergency* is it that would require a sitting president to violate the Constitutional rights of Americans this way?? As horrific as planes flying into buildings was, I don't see that as cause to justify this nonsense, what do they consider worse??

I wouldn’t even give this power to President Palin (both because I would worry about the dead and parasitic voters selecting someone like Obama and because it’s outside the proper bounds of government power), although she would almost certainly refuse to use that power. That's exactly what the regime of Chicago thugs are trying to accomplish in order to postpone/cancel the Nov. '10 election that they can't afford to lose. They are probing, poking, threatening, offending, ignoring public opinion on immigration, the economy, etc. They are catering to the far-left trying to precipitate a Reichstag Fire to disarm the population after declaring an emergency and/or martial law. Case in point, incidents of using minority union thugs to beat up Tea Partiers as happened in NC a couple of days ago.
I repeatedly said that the sign(s) would be simultaneous throttling of We-The-People's communications, mainly, the Internet, Talk/news radio and conservative publications. They can't move to disarm and subjugate the population by force with open lines of communications that will alert many parts of the country.
The big difference between the USA and other countries when it comes to said subjugation IS the first and second amendments. The first amendment is well muffled already by a communist media who don't know that their turn will come after the regime takes care of the second amendment, removing the real protection of the first amendment.
If you missed yesterday's Glenn Beck, you had better try to see/hear that program. He didn't say what I'm saying above because he simply couldn't. However, created physical violence by the Left (quoting Glenn:"rivers of blood") has a "window."
