The Houston Chronicle reports that the Obama administration has ordered the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) department to implement multiple modifications to their facilities to make life easier, more comfortable, and pleasant for the hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants (approximately 400,000) it detains annually. An internal ICE email highlights 28 different changes the organization will have to make to soften the look of its facilities, present a friendlier environment, offer better entertainment, organize fun activities, and provide illegal immigrant detainees with free access to email and phone services, as well as better dining and training classes.

WOW. This is so incredibly ridiculous, I don’t even know where to start. I just wish I knew of a country that I could sneak into, break some laws, and then get rewarded with all these perks. Unfortunately for me I was born here and have to work my butt off to earn similar frivolous activities for myself. Why would we want a softer image for where we hold illegal immigrants, anyways? These things sound like pluses for a resort vacation destination. Illegals shouldn’t even be there long enough to worry about a variety of food options before they get deported.

It’s no joke. Meanwhile, during Capitol Hill testimony yesterday on the oil spill, it was revealed that the Coast Guard is having to ration the oil spill response teams and equipment because of budget concerns.
What in the hell is going on in this country? It is time to start calling for Obama’s resignation or impeachment. This is not mere incompetence...it is a wilful dereliction of duty.

Some of the changes will be implemented within 30 days; others may take up to six months, said Beth Gibson, ICE's senior counselor to Assistant Secretary John Morton and a leader of the detention reform effort."
