Abby was just trying to take the "biggest boat sailed by a girl" record from Our Jess.

I get it Oztrich Boy, but I can't imagine being in the Indian Ocean all by myself(even at my age), pirates off the west coast of Africa and only Diego Garcia where there is a Naval base in the middle of the Indian Ocean, British I think but not sure.

The "biggest boat sailed by a girl record" was a joke: only two girls, one has biggest boat record, other has smallest boat record.

Pirates are not a problem, they hang around the equator; I don't think there is a single recorded attack below 10°S (Diego Garcia is 8°S)

Abby's problem was they sent her down into storm territory 40-45°S

Jessica had the sense to sail the Indian, even in a more storm friendly boat, at 30-35°S
