News Alert says it was 5.9....... in Ocatillo....... where is Ocatillo?

It's a town a couple miles North of the Mexican border, about 75 miles East of downtown San Diego.

I think the government is experimenting with some type of weapon. I have found more earthquakes in the last 6 months then in the whole 12 years I have been here.

It is truly amazing to feel the HUGE difference from a 4.5 to a 5.7. I know the scale is geometric but the power is impressive.

So pretty close to the last big quake? Could this be a strong aftershock from the Mexican quake?

Howdy neighbor. I just had someone tell me this afternoon that it was “earthquake weather”. I laughed at her.

Those aftershocks are all 3.0 and higher too! Here in Hemet and not feeling the aftershocks. There was a 4.5 at 9:59pm.

Looks like it might have been on the other end of the same fault that the 7.2 was centered on.

Just looking at the pattern now, the sequence after the 4.5 is looking more normal. It was a little odd after the 5.7, probably hadn’t finished adjusting quite yet.

As have I in the over thirty years I have lived in SOuthern California, including years near three faults north of here.

If the government is experimenting with creating earthquakes that will open up a waterway between the US and Mexico, I'm all for it!

As long as the Rose Canyon fault doesn’t let loose, you “townees” are okay.

Kinda make you wonder how many Freepers cross your path each day, doesn’t it? I’ve seen posts here from Vista, Oceanside, Carlsbad, San Marcos...
