Populist? She is actually correct on this IMHO... I see not much difference between smoking pot or drinking beer... both get your impaired... cocaine, heroin and meth are different stories.
Except alcohol has killed tens of hundreds of thousands...Not to mention the thousands of innocents they killed and injured along the way.
