ATLANTA - During the first meeting of a subcommittee charged with reviewing and repairing the residency verification processes within the University System of Georgia, members seemed to realize that their public relations problem is at least as big as the main issue they are tasked with resolving.
Regent James R. Jolly, chairman of the special committee created by the Board of Regents, acknowledged a letter received last week from Republican state senators chastising the regents for allowing illegal immigrants to attend public universities.
