Twins Jordan and Jayden sign card for gravely hurt mom, Victoria Rogucki (below), after Brooklyn shooting. She later died.

My favorite part about the way the Daily News handles these stories is that the truth is just never enough for them. Victoria's story is, of couse, unspeakably tragic. But what actually happened here is that she left her Brooklyn housing project in the late early morning to insert herself into a fight that her two oldest (of seven) kids were involved in. Nobody can blame her for this, and she obviously didn't deserve what she got, but she obviously knew that several of these people (including her son) were armed, and I personally find it hard to believe that she had the demeanor of Mother Theresa when it was going down.

Again, I feel terrible for her, and her younger children, but I can't think of even one reason that the gun industry and their evil huge profits might be responsible.

I feel bad for her young sons but I have nothing but contempt for her. Single motherhood is the best way I know to raise a bunch of gang bangers and that is exactly what it looks like she did. Hopefully these kids will go to their father (if they even know who he is) and at least have a chance at a normal life. Otherwise it’ll be foster care and good bye to any chance that they might have had. Sucks to have bad parents.
