MILWAUKEE - Arizona Senator Jon Kyl has confirmed, Arizona is, in fact, on the border with Mexico.

Kyl sent Milwaukee County Supervisor Peggy West a letter in which he says, "You will be interested to learn that Arizona does indeed share a border with Mexico. I have enclosed a map for your convenience."

Kyl goes on to urge West to, "actually read the Arizona law before forming an opinion about it."

I encountered a young man recently who did not know what inflation was.

I knew what inflation was in grade school, growing up around adults who talked endlessly of what things cost during the great depression...

The notion that the entire military in the world is part of the US forces is just staggeringly stupid. How can you grow up and not see at least one movie about WW2?

And an official, who lives in Arizona, who doesn't know that ARizona is a "border state", is a lib-tard.

IIRC, the lib-tard in question is from Wisconsin. Still no excuse.

Thanks for the link. I am debating with some idiot who keeps on claiming she never said the state of arizona does not have a border with Mexico.

A real nutter, won't even admit what West has admitted.

"hey, since Alaska borders mexico, shouldn't they have a law too? oh wait, they are part of canada" - Peggy West, after reviewing the map of the 57 states of Amerimexicanada.

“How can you grow up and not see at least one movie about WW2?”

I didn’t mention it in the original post, but I did in fact ask her about her knowledge of World War 2 and, specifically, who she thought it was our guys were fighting. She conceded that “fascist countries” did have armed forces at one time, but they were defeated and we are the only ones left.

This is ignorance on a stunning, staggering scale. I believe it because I run into gaps in knowledge among 20somethings with 4 year degrees and wonder how the heck they managed not to know these things. Best of all, they are convinced they are well-educated.

Sarah Palin was the first national figure to back Gov. Brewer of AZ. The day after Gov. Brewer signed in the 1070 law in AZ, Srah Palin was right at her side in Arizona to back her.

BTW, Governor Brewer of Arizona is supporting McCain for reelection to the Senate

Kyl goes on to urge West to, "actually read the Arizona law before forming an opinion about it."

Assumptions, assumptions. Kyl should have added, "or have some lackey read it to you."

West appeared confused about Arizona's location during debate about a measure that would have had the county boycott the state over its controversial new immigration law. She said, "If this was Texas, which is a state that is directly on the border with Mexico, and they were calling for a measure like this saying that they had a major issue with undocumented people flooding their borders, I would have to look twice at this. But this is a state that is a ways removed from the border."

Well, Texas is where the astronauts who went to Mars lived, so naturally they would know more about this alien stuff.
