Do they have some form of command protocol in place? Are they organised enough to be effective?
They appear to have enough command and control structure that local police departments call on them for things like search and rescue.
About 15 years ago a bad snow storm stranded motorists on 131 between Cadillac and Big Rapids. Militia members were out on snowmobiles taking motorists to local schools to wait out the storm and feeding truck drivers who wouldn’t leave their trucks.
