Profs rank Obama 15th best president By: Emily Schultheis July 1, 2010 01:29 PM EDT

A new poll of leading presidential scholars ranks Barack Obama as the 15th best president of the United States, just below Bill Clinton but ahead of Ronald Reagan.

The Siena College poll, which surveyed 238 presidential scholars at U.S. colleges and universities, asked scholars to rate the nation’s 43 chief executives on 20 attributes ranging from legislative accomplishments to integrity and imagination.

In the overall ranking, Obama rated two places below Clinton, who was 13th best, and three better than Reagan, who is ranked as the 18th best.

Franklin D. Roosevelt again earned the top spot, as he has every time since the poll was first conducted in 1982. He and the Mount Rushmore presidents — Teddy Roosevelt, Abraham Lincoln, George Washington and Thomas Jefferson — have consistently been the top five presidents in the poll’s findings.

Obama’s 15th ranking is slightly higher than other presidents who have taken office since the poll started nearly 30 years ago. Most start out at about number 20, said Siena statistics professor and poll director Douglas Lonnstrom.

“[Obama’s] doing a little better, but he’s generally in the same ballpark,” he said.

Alvin Greene, the SC Senate candidate everyone seems to agree is a moron, has a degree in political science.

In the same poll, the United States would probably rank as the 20th-Best Country, behind the USSR, Red China, Cuba, Sweden, Zimbabwe and North Korea.

“He hasn’t even been president two years. On what basis can he be ranked?”

Hell, he already has a Nobel Peace Prize. By the time he is done the MSM and these clowns will have him as the modern day Washington. Come to think of it, by the time he is done he will be the founding father of the new communist state of Amerika.

Morons !

Kind of reminds me of my undergrad days. The professors that were the biggest @$$holes and were so pompous were the most liberal ones !

This was back in the 1985, I at that time was an advocate to repeal the 55 mph speed limit when allegedly a majority of people were in favor of it. My English professor found out was not too pleased and mentioned to me condescendingly that it was one of the best things from the federal gov’t and mentioned that people are not smart enough to be able to handle an automobile even out West no faster than the sacred 55 mph.

These were also the same idiots who will play games with your grade such as vague rules and standards. I don’t do that with my students when I teach. I am up front on the rules of engagement.

Did the survey take into account how many of these “professors” are raving liberal loonies who haven’t done a days’ work or seen the light of day in their entire lives?

“That and the fact that these people tend to lead lives insulated from reality. The have no fear of losing their jobs and they work and live in environments completely separated from the life and plight of the common man.”

The same can be said of politicians - especially those in our Congress.

These “professors” operate on about the same level as the “scientists” who insist global warming is not a hoax.

This is why I've been thinking about doing something that could make a dent in the brainwashing to which college students are currently subjected.

Say that people like me, (56-year-old college graduate) enrolled in political science (or other "liberal rich") classes to challenge the professor when he/she engages in revisionist history, or outright lies. Since we already have our degree, and don't have to worry about whether or not the professor will fail us, we would be unencumbered to "speak truth to power" (to borrow one of their own phrases). Call it something like "Project Push Back".

After less than 2 years in office? Nonsense.

OTOH, at least they have Carter falling 7 spots to 32. Needless to say, he should be in the bottom 5.

It wrote: “The Siena College poll, which surveyed 238 presidential scholars at U.S. colleges and universities”

Which is telling the truth that Professors at Universities and Colleges are totally offspring of Hitler and Stalin and are anti-American scum which NO ONE SHOULD be taking Nazi and Communist classes.
