Jewish settlements issue has caused serious crisis in US-Israel relations, and Mr. Netanyahu hopes to mend fences when he meets Mr Obama
Israel is setting out its strategy for a White House summit on Tuesday.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says his upcoming White House meeting will focus on advancing peace talks with the Palestinians.
After two months of indirect talks mediated by the United States, Mr. Netanyahu told Israel's Cabinet it is time to begin face-to-face negations.

"Jewish settlement issue" is NOT what caused a "crisis", it's Obama using it as an excuse to browbeat Israel is what caused a crisis.
When the Iranian government was murdering their innocent citizens, Obama didn't want to "meddle", but when Israelis build houses, he feels obligated to intervene...
What on earth would they have to talk about?
Really, really good points. But Netanyahu is one canny guy. I doubt he will capitulate.
*ping*
Saw this before. A lot of posturing going on. I think we have to wait until Netanyahu gets to Washington to finally see what game Obama will play.
Obama won’t let up on his pressure of Israel — I wish he would pursue the War on Terror with the same vigor.
Just came across this at Newsmax:
US Pushes Israel to Sign Nuclear Treaty

The Obama administration wants Israel to formally declare its nuclear weapons program by signing the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty, according to The New York Times.
The United States first agreed to Arab demands in May that the final wording of the treaty include a clause urging Israel to become a signatory, and the issue is likely to arise again on Tuesday when Israeli Prime Minister Bejnamin Netanyahu visits the White House.

Bibi is a good guy. He will do what he has to do and say what he has to say, but he will never compromise one inch of Israel.
“Bibi is a good guy.”
No question about it. But he is in a really tough spot, with Israel’s closest ally, the US, stabbing Israel in the back at every turn, as directed by Obama.
Obama’s policy/pov is anti-Semitic in its worst and ugliest iteration. Fortunately, elements of his own party, including the odious Schumer, prevent Obama from going hog wild. He can push all he wants, but if he gets overly obnoxious Schumer will slap him down. Not something a narcissist would relish, so I wouldn’t expect Obama to go to the mat on this one.
But it looks as though Israel will be in a worse situation if it follows the regime’s demands. I’ll have to wait and see on this. If I’m not mistaken, VOA is our equivalent to Radio Havana. News like this is suspect.
LOL!
I also wonder how much is outright disinfo, but we'll never learn the details, if any, during our lifetimes.
That slug in the WH...is way over his head so he’ll meet briefly and then let the others deal with the Bibi...
Voice of America is reporting accurately, there are a lot of other outlets confirming it, I posted from VOA, because that came up first on Google News, but I did a search afterwards.
I hope you are right. I love Bibi and I hope he is able to stand up to Nilbama. With prayers and hard work, November ‘10 will change the equation to at least some degree.
Here’s a strategy for the summit. Have a state dinner with Obama in which you ask for many many bean burritos. Then get him into an enclosed room, such as the Oval Office, and fart until he flees. Then go visit India and China.
Schumer threw Israel under the bus by backing Obama. He’s a typical liberal/leftist American Jew, with no real love or affinity for Israel.
Unbelievable! of all the jewish leaders; I thought Netanyahu had chutzpah
