"Pay no attention to the Marxists behind the curtain."

Now what would give anyone the idea a bunch of anti-free enterprise zealots would be anti-business?

They also claim they’re not anti-Israel, not socialist, and that we can keep our current health insurance. Previous presidents never felt the need to make those claims, but the current occupant of our White House feels that need.

The mere fact that they had to say it is a death knell.

Oh, really? Why then are you on schedule to whack the economy hard with a huge tax increase next year, dropping another few hundred billion onto the inflation bonfire you're trying to start and working overtime to smack the economy with cap and tax before you get thrown out on your butt in November?

I suppose Wall Street is also worried about the new regulatory bill, but even though that's more awful policy in my opinion it's what those jerks deserve for supporting The Messiah in the first place.

Gosh, and our Ivy League geniuses in Washington wonder why no on will hire in this godawful business climate they've created??

The only reason he said anything is that the parade of business folks who voted for him are saying he is anti-business. Dividend taxes set to go up, marginal income tax rates set to go up, regulations up the ying-yang, etc. etc. etc.

Businesses are hording cash right now (I think I heard someone on CNBC say business have 1.2 trillion in cash right now) because they don't know what he will do next to hurt this economy.

The idea that the government is big enough or even can be big enough to centrally control this huge economy is a level of Hubris that is stunning.

It is a world record for Hubris.

Each and EVERY owner of even the smallest shoe store or pizza restaurant know MORE about what businessmen and women face each and every day than the ENTIRE White House and its trolls.
Every political utterance may cause the cancellation of a new acquisition, or a new hire. The smallest increase in a gas tax will keep customers from driving that extra mile to your business. Every piece of government paper wastes very valuable time during the business day.
Still, the fools in Washington carry on as though there is NO downside to their mischief. FOOLS is the polite and allowable word.

Lets just play a little game here. For the sake of this little game, lets say this White House isn’t anti-business.

What would be done differently if there was an anti-business administration in office?

They want to tax, control, and regulate every thing that moves including business.

Once a business is so crippled by Gubmint that it is going to fail, they decide which ones will be subsidized and which won’t.

And obviously, there must be a lot in it for them in order to subsidized.

feeding a sense that the president and his party are indifferent or even actively hostile toward big business

Obama loves big business because they are easy to control. It's the small businesses he can't stand. Small businesses are the kulaks that Comrade Obama seeks to destroy.

That’s something a lot of people don’t understand, how much corporations have to pay protection money for pols not to add on onerous legislation. Whichever party is favored in an elections gets more contributions from them because they fear the retribution otherwise.

Seems their response to every crisis is to fire-up a spin campaign. Hope they keep it up till November.
